Thanks guys turned out the O ring on the cap had gone along with the thermostat for the fan.

My 1.8 16v corrado keeps overheating after even very short journeys. By that. I mean the coolent boils to such an extent it gushes out of the hole on the expansion tank. Which is normally covered by that black cover thingy. I don't seem to have any leaks from any of the rubber piping. Has anyone got any ideas? thanks alex
