Hi everyone, I have a non buzzing underbody fuel pump on my 1.8 16v corrado, it used to buzz when turning the key, would I be correct in saying that its probably dead, if the one in the fuel tank is getting power, I'm assu ing that the relay controls both pumps so it would mean that the relay is working ok? Thankyou
-
Cheers dude, Is the fuel pump relay the same kne for kth under body and in tank fuel pumps
-
I think that my under body fuel pump has died, its been noisy for quite a while and now it does not buzz when turning the key
-
was there? i didnt know that, learn summat new every day, if so i reckon they would be the same assuming the other one was a rallye specific one?
-
first off, well done for ditching the induction kit. and your solution is a good one. i would run a paper filter too on my mk2 i drilled the bottom half of the airbox liberally too am sure there are some ics on here of one thats had this done
-
damn ! shame as you had got all new shiny bits for your bay too

when i did mine i mounted the sender where the low pressure sender would be on the head, right next to the banjo bolt for the charger oil feed, i know on my 8v i put it onto the oil filter housing and used a t piece that i got from demon tweeks to screw the sender into then the oil pressure sender went into the other leg of the "T". there are 2 senders on oil filter, i "think " the closest one to the front of the engine is oil pressure, the one behind it is the oil temp. but again please check. normally the top of the engine the pressure will be lower than right down on the oil filter, i hope this helps a little, im sure there are more knowledgable people who have also done this. as for the sender i got one off an old audi 80. cheers

thanks for the responses so far, it was in fact a fuse that had blown on the fusebox, which seemed a lot for one 1 fuse to affect all them things! cheers guys

its a 1996 passat tdi, where is the x relief relay?

Hi I know its not a corrado but it does have similar stuff to a corrado so i thought id post it in here went to adjust the side mirrors on a b4 passaat and all the gauges that were working all of a sudden stopped needless to say the electric mirrr didnt work either, so now , no rev counter, no speedo, no odometer, no mfa , no temp gauge and no fuel gauge as well as no warning lights. Is it possible i have blown a fuse , as the clock seems to work as well as the illumination lights. its like as if the car is switched off , not showing any gauges working, but the clock is still active. i hope its a fuse otherwise it may be the dash out lol. strange thing is though, i can operate the leccy windows by using the key, ie i turn the key a certain way in the drivers door and all 4 windows come down and then up when i lock it. thers nothing like an ignition signal wire is there telling the dash etc that the engine is running?
-
yeah where is this wire as i have a very similar issue

my G60 did smoke at idle when warmed up , no puff of smoke on over run, i changed valve stem seals and it was fine. i would say that it doesnt sound conclusive that you have a head gasket failure , as mentioned short journeys can cause slight mayo in the breathers etc

you shouldnt lose any coolant when changing the bts. keep us updated
