  1. Here are some questions for any enthusiasts who might be kind enough to offer answers/advice: Can someone please give me a full description of the term 'Recaro' seats (re. a corrado VR6). How significant is a red VR6 badge on the corrado (1993) front grille? Are customised fixed bolt alloys a bonus (Limited Edition Berreta)? How many automatics were built (roughly)? Is an automatic transmission less desirable to fans of the VR6? (ie. are they rare and collectable or considered not so much fun to drive)? Or is it simply a matter of personal preference? Lastly does anyone out there know how to trace the original ex-factory spec details of a vehicle as at date of first purchase. I am not well versed on the Corrado and cannot find a full service history for the vehicle we have inherited and wish to sell. Although the car appears to be mechanically sound and in good cosmetic condition I am not 100% on the full spec of the vehicle. I want to know if it was up-graded when first ordered or if it is the standard model. As far as I know it hasn't been modified since leaving the factory. I have tried to offer a comprehensive description of the vehicle in my For Sale add posted on this forum last month but I wonder if I need to add any extra info which might be of interest to a potential buyer. The car has a new MOT but no tax. In order to get the car taxed I need to insure it. I am not prepared to insure it at a high premium because I have no intention of using the vehicle. However this means I cannot purchase tax without providing insurance ... I hope this will not prove an obstacle because I assume a buyer will be able to put the vehicle on their insurance and then we can get it taxed when a sale is agreed. Work that I think is relevant to the vehicle: - the bonnet (top front passenger side) is cosmetically damaged (not road accident) so buyer might prefer to replace with new - front lamp glass (not head light) now cracked (someone's (?) careless on street parking). Garage have fixed it satisfactorily but a buyer might prefer to replace with new - Assorted minor scratches/dents on the bodywork. Enthusiastic cash happy buyer might want to respray. - Some unexplained light 'streak' markings on the exterior of the passenger side of the sunroof and erratic operation of the sunroof. Having read the various comments about sunroof problems I wonder if the streak marks were caused by the sunroof sticking. There was an incident in the corrados history whereby the vehicles highly sensitive security system forced the sunroof to close whilst the car was stationary and the then owner had to prise it open because a young child was trapped and the shutting mechanism would not reverse the lock down procedure. Since the emergency incident the sunroof is still operational. However, I believe it is temperamental because I was told there have been some subsequent sticking problems when it is in use. Personal observation: - The brake discs look a bit rusty because the car has been standing for a long period. I have been assured by the mechanics at the test centre and my garage that this will sort itself out once the vehicle has been driven routinely again. Good Points: The cream/beige leather interior is in fine condition. Corrado floor mats are included. The engine is in very good condition. The mileage is low. Bearing in mind the general condition of the vehicle as described here (and in the for sale ad) do forum followers think that 4K is a fair price for a 93 K Reg Auto VR6 or is it a bit on the high side? The vehicle was purchased for 12K in 1999 from a dealer. I think it was registered with the Corrado Collectors Club (GB) so more of the cars history might be available to members of that club (the previous owners membership has expired so I have not traced the car through this source myself). I still haven't posted any car pics because of lack of technology to add the photos! What can I say apart from the car looks pretty much like all the other green VR6 corrados advertised on this site and I will try and add photos as soon as poss.
