  1. yeah, but i mean can they be trusted to keep the outer seals of the charger lubed sufficiently or would you advise using ptfe spray also?
  2. Yeah iv scene these flusted and been considering doing this mod on my g60, would you say they can be trusted?
  3. Yeah you do that matey, i brought exactly the same kit, expecting delivery and day now and will be fitting it on sat!
  4. Hmmm, expected more of a response than that, come on guys oppinions please??? The rocker cover is now for sale and can be seen in the "parts for sale" section from tonight when i get a minute!
  5. Heres what i did with my borbets if anyone was wondering..... The rocker cover will be up for sale if shawshank dosnt want it, or i might screw it into the bathroom wall and use it as a shaving mirror, just godda run it past the girlfriend first though :?

Cheers dec, yeah alot of hours went into this one, getting the technique down now though, and just about decided on the best polishing bits and bobs to use for different parts, wheels, rocker covers, manifolds, ect after the endless buying and testing of papers, flap wheels, abrasives, pops, compounds, ect ect, im sure you know the rap sheet. My next job is my dads manifold off his 16v, and after he saw what i'd done with my borbets, he's now buying some! Which will end up in my polishing shed, but only problem is you cant really charge your dad can you! Engine looking good matey, keep up the good work!
  7. Cheers Jonnyboyo! I should have taken a picture oif my fingers after i had decided it was done (which was about 5 hours more work after i first decided it was done) Big Blisters! Anyway its finally done, sorry its taken a rediculous amount of time to do guys, during doing it i was constantly hinderd with more inportant crap that needed my attention, but thankfully all sorted now. As you can see this rocker cover is mirror polished to a very high standard and took me hours and hours! This is the first rocker cover iv done and actually the thing iv mirror polished and put on here, not bad for a first attempt i dont think? Iv got my new wheels on two, borbets, flat centers, black middles and backs, mirror polished dishes and lips by my self, ill get a pic of them on here when iv got more time! Shawshank - do you still want this rocker cover or shal i offer it to the good people of the corrado forum?????
  8. ok ok i know its taken a while, (sorry guys) had lots of crap to deal with over the last few months, but iv managed to get round to finishing it, and it looks awsome! Put it this way, you cant look at it outside when the suns out or you get temporarily blinded, picture very soon!
  9. No i dont think so, when its "happening" it happens after a few secconds on full boost, but allways drops to the same place of the boost gauge. Then other times it will be fine and stay at just over 1 bar all the way up! Strange, i home its not my charger showing signs of it being ready for a re-build, it was only done 10k ago and all that time it was on standard pully, only recently fitted 68mm. Is 1 bar good for a charger with a 68mm and rsr?

The rocker covers nearly done, looks awsome if i do say so my self, going to paint inside the grooves and inside the badge with some black high temp paint to give it some depth (cheers shawshank!) Pic will be up very soon! Allthough i think i need to soundproof the garage because i thing the neighbours are "concerned" with the wining of the drill and i think the clutch is going in this bosh drill, lol, better price another up!
  11. ahh right i see, so your saying that the isv check valve could cause the engine to run lean? I havent got an isv check valve on, so could my boost loss 30% of the time after a few secconds of full chat be due to my isv being a bit dodgy?

  13. Yeah it takes a while, and you have no skin left on your finger tips when you have done, but it looks damm good! When iv done it ill get a picture up on here, should only take me a few more days! Iv just mirror polished the dished and lips of my new borbet a's, they are at the paint shop at the moment having the centers and spokes and backs black, also got some a the flat centers for em to, should look nice. Also gonna get an induction manifold and see if i can mirror polish that two, maybe i could brighten up a few fellow corrado owners engine bays! Watch this space!
  14. Hi guys! OH MY GOD! I think i can stop worrying. I have recently been to our friends at g works for an rsr, sns chip and 68 pully. The manifold started blowing on the way there so all the way back and untill i got the manifold replaced i diddnt give it much throttle. (well diddnt take it above 3000 to be honest because i had heard 1950's tractors sounding better) anyway new monifold and sounding sweet again. I was very impressed with the gains that the chip, pulley and rsr gave me, i have a boost gauge fitted and im seeing a touch over 1 bar of boost in third with foot on the floor at about 5000 prm, thats just over 14 psi isnt it? Is that good? Well occasionally (about 30% of the time) when i put my foot down the gauge will hit 1 bar for 3 or so secconds, then drop down to about 0.5 bar (with the pedal still all the way down) it allways drops and rests at about 0.5 bar and has been puzzeling me, thought it was a boost leak somewhere or the charger was ready to go! allthough it was only stage four'd 10'000 ago and all those miles it was on standard pulley. I hoped it was the boost leak! But with the cpu being down for the last few weeks i have not been able to get on the corrado forum for any length of time to have a look and make a post. So can i put this down to my isv being a bit dodgy then? and would you advise getting this check valve mod or a new isv? And is just over 1 bar good for a charger with 68 pulley, rsr and sns chip? Thanks very much guys!
  15. Hi Everyone, my sigma alarm has started to cause me a bit of a nightmare, its been fine for the 1.5 years of owning my g60, done loads to it but havent touched the alarm. For the last few weeks its given 1 short beep when iv started the ignition, but everything else worked fine. Made a mental note to take it to an auto electrician / alart technician but as im skint till pay day iv had to put it off. Got in it this morning, dissarmed, turned the key, nothing. Can hear the fuel pump prime, then i turn to start and nothing at all. Got out, checked wires on startermotor and fuses, all fine. Armed it, disarmed it, tried again, nothing. Repeated this process a few times, then started fine??? Made a few small journeys today, no problems. Got out of it 2 hours ago on my drive, pushed the window switch to close it (its 2/3 of the way down) it diddnt work, nor passenger, hmmm. Got out, went to arm the system, it gave the beep beep and the lights flashed, but nothing locked, no doors, no boot, fuel door, nothing. So its nocked out all the locks and the windows (drivers side still down) but the alarm still beeps when armed and dissarmed, and when armed and you open the door (because the locks arnt working so you can just open it) the alarm goes off, ???? Iv got the manual and security codes, ect but theres nothing that indicates this problem. Tried the method to close the windows in emergency (hold button down 5 secs on fobb, nothing) i think somethings broken in the alarm box its self, think i need a sigma technician, what do you think? Anyone had anything like this before? Anyone know a sigma dealer, in the notts area, cant seem to find anything near me on the net? Thanks in advance, Andrew

It took me best part of 4 hours (with 30 mins of 40 mph on the m25) very easy drive, only use about 6 roads from the m1, last 20 miles is down country lanes and thru little villages so dont get caught behind a massive arctic lorry like me! Unfortunatley the flush centers are not going to happen, they will take my dad ages to mill them by hand as that recess has to be all milled out of one big piece of 10mm thick alloy to make them exact coppies and he wouldnt be able to use the machines at work for that long (im talking 3 hours a set! (this is why the origenals are cast (moulded) and unfortunatley i cant cast any! so it looks like we are going to have to pay the £70 off ebay, or...im going to ring all the borbet suppliers in the country (theres about 24) and see what deals i can strike / information i can find. Ill ask about group buys, ect ect and report all my information back here!

Found a pic of some done in the anthracite - very nice! just trying to decide if they will look right on a red car, oppinions please?? Yeah its coming on well thanks g60greeny, not sure if you've seen my thread about the van window breaking infront of me on the a38 and putting about 50 stone chips in the front of my freshly re-sprayed car? Well their insurance first said they werent liable as it wasnt the van drivers fault, he said there was a stone that hit the window! On a duel carige way, no other cars arround appart from me and him, miles from no where! When we both stopped i instantly looked in the van, there was no glass or stones anywhere and his hand was cut exactly where it would be if you hit it with your hand from inside the car. So i'v kicked off big time at the ins company, threatend them with the ins ombudsman, the fsa, ins watch dog, iv wrote them a very "to the point" letter and my solicitor (who fortunatly is a life long friend of my mums) has also wrote them a letter so just waiting for them to get in touch and tell me whet there going to do about it. But other than that its comeing on well, went to g works last thursday, one a their sns 5.5 chips, charger outlet, 68mm pully, and they checked the charger for me, was very impressed, they know their stuff and are very good at it, well worth a 4am get up for. Going to get some samco hoses for it tomorrow. It pulls really strong now but manifold has started to blow and getting worse, argh, what next! lol. So thats being done soon, wheels on nxt weekend, some aero wipers and the red tinted back lights on that are sat in my garage and it should be about done, cant wait to get it out in the sun at some shows now its show worthy (i think any way) Pics will be going up when the wheels are on.   21. Hi everyone, bit of advice please. Iv brought some borbet a's 16" 7.5 j all round. They were sprayed silver and needed a good re-furb but got them at the right price so handed them over to my body shop to sort out for me. I was going to have the dishes mirror polished and then have the rest sprayed a really smooth, shiney silver but decided i cant really afford to have them mirror polished at the moment so i told them to take all the paint off and a straight re-furb and re-spray, but guess what! They rang me this morning, they have been mirror polished allready! someone has sprayed over them in the past and when my mate was taking the paint off the dishes to re-furb them they just shon through! Couldnt believe it. Gave them a clean and they look really good! So then a few of the guys at the body shop said why dont you have the centers black and leave the dishes polished, some are saying silver and i really cant decide. If anyone has any pictures i would be very graitfull or if you have had them done a certain colour in the past that looked good and advice would be great because i really cant make my mind up! The car is tornado red and i also wanted to get a set of the flat centers two, so what do you think???
  22. Cheers guys, excellent advice as usual! Been back to the garage to have it checked, he assured me that both the crank bolt and washer were rep[laced with brand new, while i was there he put it on the lift and had a check, and also checked the tightness off the associated bolts, all was fine. He said that the noise sounds like a dry belt or a bearing in a pully thats getting ready to be changed and its not a problem, he said when i take it to have a new manifold on (cos it has just started blowing, nice) he'll take the belts off and sort that two. So hopefully a fals alarm, thank F**k. Off to g-werks tomorrow for some chip, pully, rsr outlet and oil cooler action and maybe a 4 branch manifold if the bank account allows, should be worth the 4am wake up!
  23. Thanks for all the oppinions / advice everyone! I have an updjate, I have been in contact with the lady who was driving about 200 yards behind me in her mg tf which also caught approx 10 chips (and she was 200 yards behind). She has also been in touch with the company and by the sound of it said exactly the same as me. The company have sent her a damage declaration form (which im going to call up and get off them) Ween we both have recieved it we are going to fill them in and get them back off to them. Aparantly they are saying that something was thrown at the window! Even though we were traveling atleast 60 mph, 2 miles from nothing but trees and fields and as soon as he stoped i inspected the front of the van, no glass or anything on the inside! They have then said there there are no whitnesses to what happend! What about me, who saw the whole thing and the lady and her mum in the car behind me. I will not let this one get brushed under the carpet and i am prepared to fight it which is the exact attitude of the other lady involved. Someones damaged my pride and joy and im not going down without a fight. Watch this space! Any further oppinions / advice welcome!
