should my nearside wheels stick out more!?!
VR6*MarkOfTheBeast* replied to VR6*MarkOfTheBeast*'s topic in Drivetrain
cheers guys... all wheels are stamped with the same offset. all adaptors are 20mm thick. I've been told by a good friend and veteran VW fella that MK2's share this issue and it's something to do with road camber? VW speed also said that all vw's stick out on one side more than the other. herisites...do your wheels sit in the arches EXACTLY the same all the way round?..(congrats on the pic of yours in the mag 8) ) -
having just fitted my newly refurbed RS's i noticed that the neaside pair of wheels stick out a good 1-2cm (about half inch in old money) !! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t310 ... G_4072.jpg I'm told this is common? I'm using 20mm adaptors and 16x8" rs's...problem is the offside rear sits within the arch and the neaside sticks out too much (pictured) so even with the arches rolled i think i need to lose about 1 or 2 cm's. i know i can get 15mm spacers but is there any other way i can loose a few mm? cheers guys

As title really, i fancy some orange side's. I heard UK corrado's never had them so what options have i got in the VAG world? pics would be a bonus. cheers guys (and gal's?) Rick.

not shure...is that a common problem? -
Hi people, having a problem with my 94 vr with cobra full closure cat1. here's the syptoms: -occasionally the car will open via the fob and when i turn the key there is nothing there at all. no mfa no turn over, nothing. somtimes it seems a little knock like shutting the the door or opening and closing the bonet does the trick and she starts up with no further problems. hapened again this monring, the alarm was going off and refused to reset via the fob. i checked the battery connetions (which seemed fine) closed the boent and she fired up as normal?!!? -when using the fans, heated screen, radio, and lights sometimes the engine looses power switching one or two of the four off sorts the problem out. duff battery/alternator? thanks for the help, rick

thinking about putting one of theese on: WIECHERS SUMP GUARDS http://www.eurotek-online.com/content/catalogue anyone seen one? heard anything about them?
-
thanks. dubsport put the coilovers on two weeks ago and the photo's were taken soon after so it still had'nt settled. the back has come down a bit more since but i'l have a look and maybe give it another cheeky drop at the back. cheers!

Not THAT low? i've seen lower.

i'm getting sick of cr**ping myself whenever i come accros speed bumps/multistorys etc. i'm going to fit a smaller front splitter/remove the cat. this should stop the scraping but leaves the sump all on it's own down there. is there any way i can protect it?

sick of it catching on everything! any idea? cheers.
