Yeah ideally a valver. I currently own a 1994 Audi 80 with a 2.0 8valve lump, its good enough but i need that little bit extra. VR6/G60's are out of my price range, and probably drink the fuel a bit more for the daily. (they arent terrible i know), even though i get better mileage running on optimax. cheers that little wiki is great, as is the pre-buy sticky, great idea i'll suggest that on the audi forums too. all in all seems a well built car with no notorious rust or problem areas from the reviews. i never mind doing a little bit cleaning to keep it all nicely lubed up so thats good to know re:spoiler and if the sunroof is an easy fix thats also good to know. i think club/forum scenes are great on all VAG stuff, you do get some really useful and helpful articles and members. i've come across a dealer called TCS - the corrado specialist - are they any good? do they do good work or do they just buy/sell corrados? im not dead set on leather but it just looks like the kind of prestige car that should have it, would be nice but more important things like engine/suspension to worry about! :lol: ive seen so many in green its a cool colour almost a little too common, but there are so many colours which all work well thanks to the corrado, saying that i dont want another white car (maybe if its pearl) and i know all about the fading VW red - although it can be restored with specialist mop and compound or so i am told. I cant think of any other questions right now! Oh apart from - how long do valvers last? 200k for a well treated one?

Hello all, looks like a great forum scene here plenty of knowledge! I'm a bit of an Audi man but I'm into all things VAG. Having recently bought an 80 2.0E for the commute, i'm now tired of it and have hankerings for something else. I was thinking about a Series 3/4 Audi Coupe (mmm Galv'd :D), preferably a 2.0 16V or maybe a 2.3, but was thinking about Corrados, after all it's still a VAG! were these things hand built by Karmann? Id be after a 16V, 2.0 or 1.8 not bothered too much, but it would have to be one thats in a good condition, i've got enough projects as it is! (see my signature box) SO what should i be looking for and what price range? I'm thinking about £1500 for one with plenty of Test in good nick with 100-150k, sound right? I've heard sunroofs go, but how do they break and are they an easy fix? Also what about these active spoilers, do they go bang often if so how and are they an expensive fix? and is leather interior rare? anyway hope to talk to you all and heres to gaining some more VAG knowledge ! chris / eboy / 1985sport
