Hi, As title. Now it's started to rain, I've noticed the current wipers don't clear a thing!! Thanks
-
I don't have an Ipod connected, but like I say it has always been fine (I think) just the last few months there seems to be a problem. Disconnecting my radio is the next job - just need to find the keys to pull it out! I've just had look through the other thread and found that the cigarette lighter is on the same circuit - which has always been dodgy so that'll be next! Thanks

Hard to say really, it has only gone completely flat once, which was probably over the weekend (2-3 days). But it's just some mornings the starter is really struggling. No I have a the standard loom still. Also when I ran the test with the multimeter, the only circuit drawing any real current was the radio. ---------- Post added at 9:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:08 AM ---------- No it doesn't, but I turn it off and take off the face plate. So I assumed it would be off? I have had the stereo for 5 or 6 years and I have never noticed a problem before - I thought maybe something had gone wrong in the radio making it draw current when off? I'm trying to work out what would be a reasonable amount of current for the radio to draw when off? I have checked the manual and there is a heading 'backup current: 25mA' - which I am guessing is what it should be? So if I am reading the multimeter correct, it's drawing 10 times as much as it should?

I have been having a few problems recently with my battery / starting the car, so have had a new battery and starter motor. This was a couple of weeks ago and I am still having issues with the battery discharging. I'm trying to decide whether the battery is a dud or whether it's a problem somewhere else... So this weekend, I used a multimeter in series to test how much power is drawn when everything is off. I found that fuse 22 (the radio) was drawing 0.31 amps, which I think I am correct in thinking is 310mA? (tested using the 10A setting on multimeter).:bonk: It's an aftermarket headunit (Pioneer deh68), I'm assuming it's drawing far too much - just wanted some second opinions??

Hi, As title - hopefully someone can help... I've been watching out for them but always seem to miss out by a couple of days!!

Hi all, In desperate need of a headlight switch (late type), the plastic tab inside mine broke last night. I am having to take the whole switch unit out of the dash to turn the lights off now!! :bonk:

I have an a starting problem in warm weather ie when the car has been sitting in the sun all day. I turn the key and the car will fire up for a second maybe shorter then cut out. After searching through the forum for answers, I think it may be; immobilizer, ignition switch or starter solenoid? I am going for the immobilizer first and I have read about cleaning contacts but I am not sure exactly where to go. Could someone please point me in the direction or give me an idea of what to do? Thanks in advance!

StueyB!! ABS sensor guides arrived quickly and in perfect condition Thanks

I don't have a vag com, a garage did it for me, they told me front and rear offside sensors. I'm afraid they didn't give me the codes. He did clear them afterwards when I started the car again my light is on, so I'm pretty sure they are still there. The garage said they will scan it again for free, if the fault happens again. But I was planning on changing the sensors this weekend myself and then take it back Monday and get them scanned again to check they are OK.

I have had my ABS vag com'ed and it has come up with an error with both front and rear offside sensors. My first question is will it definately be the sensors, or could it be the cables or connections between the ecu and sensors. Second is, I have looked on GSF and ECP the seem to have a budget and mid and expensive. Anyone had any experience with the cheap ones? Any good? Or should I just stick to the most expensive? Cheers

Hi, I have had a search and there doesn't seem to be anything that matches my problem exactly... When I start my 2l 16v I can hear the starter going and the car will rev once up to 1-2000 and then die straight after. I can sometimes catch it by revving the engine and that keeps it idling. If I do manage to get it going it runs perfectly, idles fine, never stutters. I have checked all the air hoses (no leaks) and cleaned the throttle body, as these are the free and easy things to do. What would you guys check / change next... I'm thinking fuel filter, pump in the tank?

Hi, I am missing the grey U shaped clip / hose retainer from my front off side wheel. You can see part of it in the picture on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=93867&p=1089972&hilit=abs#p1089972 (not where the green arrow is pointing, the plastic running accross the middle). I was wandering if anyone could tell me what it's called / part number and where I could get one from. I have tried the part number on the one pictured on GSF and they don't reconise the part.

thanks all, Like I said the car had a new cat less than a month ago and also a new lambda sensor and starter motor. I'm hoping its just the cat that is buggered after all the suggestions, its getting towed to a garage tomorrow morning so I guess i'll find out then.

I brought a 16v today, on the way back I had to fill up with petrol. I filled it with BP Ultimate without really thinking about it, I left the petrol station and got about 5 metres before my car spluttered to a standstill. The AA came had a look at the car, he started it and kept it turning over for a bit revving it. Then had a look under the car and the cat was glowing red. So he suggested that the high octane fuel was to rich and was getting into the cat and blocking it. Is this right? I also should mention that the cat was about 2 weeks old as the previous owner had to have a new 1 to pass the MOT. So is it the cat, fuel or is there some other problem I could be worrying about? Not very happy at all, at the moment cost me £138 to get my car home and now got to get it towed to a garage on Monday morning. Even I'm hoping it wasn't me that caused the problem it would king of be a relief if I just have to empty the tank and fill with standard unleaded.

Sunroof doesn't slide - he tried to convice me some models came without sliding sunroof. Spoiler works with switch but not when driving. Worst car I have ever been in I think!

Yep right car, pictures taken from angles so you can't see the damage, this is why I was so surprised when I got there. It's a nail!!

I drove from Birmingham to Chesham today to look at this car: link shortened I was told over the phone that the bodywork wasn't perfect (a few dings and scratches), but the engine was fine. When I got there I found that most the lacquer has come off, and the whole nearside looked as though it had been scratched against a bollard, both arches were bent and it had been painted over in a matt blue paint also the front bumper was hanging off. The interior was terrible rips in door cards and bits of trim missing all over. There was oil in the water, (I'm pretty sure the head gasket had gone) and all over the underside of the bonnet. I don't think the car is worth £500 let alone £1595. Someone might want to take it on as a project, but I'm just warning you because it is nothing like it seems in the picture or how it is described in the ad or over the phone.

Thanks I'll give him a try.

Hi all, Could you recommend me some insurance companies for the corrado? Norwich union (who I'm with) won't insure me till i'm 25, so i'm going to have to buy out of my policy. I'm just ringing round now but wondered if there are any that you find a good for the corrado in particular?

Agreed, but black isn't either :)

Nice, white isn't my favourite colour tho. I take it leather is not very rare then? It's the only valver with leather I have seen so far tho.

According to the specs in the wiki, the 1.8 is faster 0-60 than the g60. So what is the advantage? Does this look like a reasonable price, or way to high? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/171512.htm
-
I'm thinking a g60 would be less reliable and would require more maintenance because of the charger?
