  1. i have now completey removed the golf dash and am trying to rectify the problem with the heater,it was only blowing hot air before i removed it and only worked on settings three and four if i can remember.have found a perfect donor car at my local scrapyard,a j reg unmodified 16v.was thinking of taking the heater box out and fitting it into my 1990 16v.all the parts in the j reg seem to be working o would it be a gd idea to do this? i tihnk that many of the parts on my car would of been changed to golf parts to accomodate the dashboard.am a lil bit stumped with this situation and am desperate for help as am trying my best to get this rado back on the road.the dash conversion was done by awesome gti in 2003 or 04.other problem being that all the switches i think have been changed.really am desperate for any help or being pointed in the right direction.greatly appreciated, andy
  2. chavvy boy racers are a nuisance,i had a similar stint with a b reg convertible escort,(yes i can hear you all saying oh dear!) lol.it was the first week i had my rado and i was driving back from asda, the escort watched me pull out of asda car park and him and another car (probably another chavvmobile ie corsa etc...) followed me.the escort tailgated me for a bout a mile.i wasnt intrested in putting my foot down as had nothing to prove that my car could leave his standing, instead i just continued at the speed limit at which point he and his mate on a single carriageway road both decided to overtake me with oncoming vehicles. probably the most stupid and ridiculous thing i have seen on the road.i just dont understand why these people feel the need to do it,and what do they achieve???
  3. just some photos of the rado,i know it looks a bit tatty but gotta start somewhere!2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfn509052120_13061_8992.jpg[/attachment:d4dde]
  4. i know this is irrelevant of the subject but am desperate for some help,i have a 1990 1.8 16v with a lot of modifications,i bought it from a close friend who had it for several years before parting company with it to me.has had thousands spent on it including engine rebuild, respray in alfa blue/silver,i think koni/eibach suspension,g60 brakes,oz super t's,single wiper conversion,tt feul cap:keyless entry,de-locked,tt door handles, tinted windows, golf mk3 dash conversion.unfortunately the car has sat for a number of months and is in need of a fair amount of work.the main thing i need to fix is the dashboard, unfortunately awesome gti didnt do a gr8 job of the dash conversion n it basically over time has fallen apart.i have removed the dash n discovered that mthe ducting was cut n held together with duck tape!! hardly what you would expect for a job that cost £800.i have already bought an origianl corrado dash for her, however the problem being that the wires to all the switches have all been changed to accomadate the golf dash.i dont really want to replace the wiring loom as im told it is a very big job.am stuck in a predicament on whether to repair the car or get rid of it,would be a shame to get rid of it as i have always dreamed of owning a rado and when this car is up to scratch would be up there with the best of valvers.basically would love some direction on wot to do bout the dash n where to get parts from as finding a rado in a scrapyard these days that hasnt already had everything stripped out of it is becoming a very rare thing.im pretty sure it would also need a new heater matrix,is this a hard job to do? am practically minded so will do most work myself with the helping hands of the old man lol.only other thing i can think to do is take it to a specialist but i dont know of any.any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.cheers andy
