Used aux belt tensioner suitable for Golf/Vento/Corrado/Passat/Sharan 2.8/2.9 VR6. Also suitable for Ford Galaxy or SEAT Alhambra. I bought this for my old Corrado VR6 but I've since sold the car and am having a clear out. Can email photo if required. £27 posted; £20 collected - located in Aberdeen, reasonably close to the city centre. Thanks

As per title - 2 x 5L tanks. Brand new, unopened. VW 505 00 approved. Bought this for my Mk2 Golf GTI and Corrado VR6 but have since sold both cars so the oil is now surplus to requirements. Having a clear out! £30 for both, collected. Located in Aberdeen, reasonably near city centre. Could post but will have to check out the cost of postage.

Thanks, let me know when you can. As for the blackberry - sold it to a guy from St Andrews who's also on here.

I think that one's Classic Green but might be wrong. Dragon Green paint code is LC6P if that helps?

I think it might be, could be Classic Green though. Dragon Green paint code is LC6P.

I guess this is a bit of a long shot, but don't suppose anyone in the vicinity of Aberdeen has a dragon green driver's door (1994) in good condition? Some mink tried to break into my VR6 the other night and mangled the door, replacing the door might be my most cost effective solution. Thanks.

Hi Just wondering there are any mechanics in the Aberdeen area with Corrado knowledge looking for some extra cash? My 94 VR6 is off the road at the moment and needs a bit off work done. MOT expired/currently SORN'ed etc as I haven't had the time this year to do anything with it. I managed to replace the serp belt + tensioner myself a few months ago but I think a new water pump may be required and probably a few other bits and pieces to get it through its MOT. Brakes probably need looking at. And needs a service. Was running well enough until I parked it in the garage in January. Would prefer to avoid taking it to a garage until I can get a better idea of the extent of the work that would be required. So - anyone looking for a homer? Knowledge/expertise must be demonstrable - don't want any old chancer having a go! Thanks Alastair

How do I remove this without causing any damage to the warning light or the surrounding area?

I think I've got a problem with the water pump pulley on my VR6. Very briefly the serp belt snapped a month or so ago so the car's just been sitting in my garage since then. I'm mechanically inept but I managed to get a new belt and fit it last week. There was still a rattle coming from the area of the belt and I guessed that it was the tensioner that was at fault so I got myself another tensioner off ebay. I fitted that this evening - no small achievement for me! Anyway, to cut a long story short all is still not well and there is a rattle coming from the left hand side of the engine and it looks like the belt is moving a bit. I investigated further and I noted that there is some play/movement in what is (I think) the water pump pulley so I think this must be the culprit. I have checked, double checked and checked again that the belt is fitted properly so I don't think the belt is the issue. How do I sort this? Is this something that I could do myself? I see that there are 3 bolt holes on the pulley but no idea how to access them. All help/suggestions very welcome! Thanks.

Thanks for that. Now that I know what it is, I can search the forum. Assuming I get the Ford part, is it easy for me to replace? I'm mechanically inept. Also, will this have been having a detrimental effect on emissions? My car was going to fail its MOT on emissions, but didn't complete the test (alternator belt snapped). Is this likely to solve the probelm? Thanks

Please see photo below. Can someone help me please? I'd like to know.. 1) what does this bit do? It's maybe not clear in the photo, but it's at the top left of the engine (as you stand facing the front of the car) 2) is it supposed to be as it is? (ie no longer attached) - I assume not 3) if it's not right what problems it might cause 4) how do I sort it and will any replacement parts be required? Ebay items 002.jpg[/attachment:2y13turm] All advice very gratefully received! Thanks.

Thanks. Given that I'm not even remotely mechanically minded and have no tools, it's probably not a realistic option for me to try and replace the alt belt. The breakdown guy removed the broken belt. Will damage be caused if I drive it the short distance to the garage? I appreciate that it won't have PAS. I don't have access to VAGCOM either so I'll probably need to get them to check it out anyway. Unless there's anyone competent in the Aberdeen area who's looking for an easy homer? The car is off the road and in my garage.

I took the old VR6 out to a council MOT station today hoping it would somehow sneak through. Things were looking up when a doddery old bloke took the job on. However, all went wrong thereafter. It was obviously struggling on the emissions test (fast idle, approx 2k rpm) so he tried it again. On the second or third go, with the revs at approx 3k rpm the alternator belt pinged. MOT test abandoned. (sligt sense of relief as at first I feared it was the timing chain). Car was breakdown recovered to my house. I'm mechanically ignorant so I have a few questions I was hoping someone could maybe offer some advice on. 1) any suggestions as to what might be causing the emissions problem? I have hardly used the car this year but it had a decent run out to the MOT station (30 miles or so). Oil temp was only in the low 70s for some reason though. Flew through its MOT last year but has done less than 1k miles since then. 2) I know that the alternator belt drives the PAS as well, but aside from that, am I risking any damage by driving the car a short distance to my favoured garage, only 2 miles or so. I assume that this is an easy fix? Could this be indicative of other problems or likely to just be cause the belt was worn? It was rattling a fair bit before it went. All advice gratefully received, apologies if my questions seem daft. Cheers
