  1. Hi, looking for the pump under the car, thanks. These seems to be the rarest of rare - unable to locate one anywhere.
  2. looking for the underbody fuel pump assembly for a valver (1.8 KR).
  3. Thanks, that's exactly what it is - the other thread provides a lot of detail. I just now need to find one!
  4. Hi, Got a smell of fuel and a leak coming from this part. Anyone know what it is an where I can get a replacement? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks for the tip. Will get it from there.
  6. Try Peter D James. Got mine for £160. But then I'm not near 21 - closer to the Big 5 -0! Based in Glasgow which also has high insurance premiums so maybe they're worth a try.
  7. Hi Guys, Really really struggling to get the above for my Corrado. This is a '91 1.8 16v (KR). I believe the MKII Golf version is the same so I've been on the Golf forums as well. No luck so far. Anyone point me in the right direction/got one available? Tried VW but parts now obsolete apparently. The last thing I want to do is break her for spare but it is looking increasingly likely that I'll have little choice - Fuel is kinda important :)
  8. Hi Thanks. It's the external fuel pump I need, thanks anyway.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Mechanic has found more problems. so now trying to locate the fuel pump, fittings and the fuel pump accumulator. Anyone got any ideas - stealers no longer do them. I believe that the MK2 golf would have a similar system for the 1.8KR. Anyone able to confirm this and know where to purchase?
  10. Here's hoping someone can assist. My Corrado is sitting up in my mechanics garage awaiting a part. Unfortunately he cannot locate it - VW say they no longer provide. Its for a 1.8 16V KR. According to my mechanic this is the part no - N90223802. It is an 'o' ring rubber seal. Not sure if this is generic and can get one from gsf etc Anyone able to advise where I can get this?
  11. As far as I can tell it is the original immobiliser. Not sure how I would check. Did not find a reset procedure when google'd the model no. Think it's to old lol!
  12. Hi, Got a problem with my valver (1.8 KR model). Since I bought car the immobiliser has never been used - previous owner said it was not working and not sure why. Decided to check it out and put battery in the fob (Quantum Alarm) pressed it (something flashed on the dash) and now the car wont start! There is nothing from the key turn, it wont crank. Given that it did before it must be immobiliser?? I've been looking around this and other forums for a reset procedure. Anyone know how to go about it?
  13. Hi, Anyone recommend a mechanic in the Glasgow area? Looking to get the 1.8 KR tuned.
  14. hi, do you have the heater/blower fan? how much? thanks, davie
  15. Cheers mate, thanks for quick reply. defo a seal but wanted to check in case unit needed.
  16. Thanks Rod, the ones i went for were sold. How much for yours? cheers Davie
  17. Hoping someone can identify this part. Got a leak and need it sorted pronto.
  18. Hi Looking for the lower part of the steering cowling - anyone have this?
  19. Hi, do you still have the plastics for top and bottom of Steering Wheel
  20. Cheers guys, going to go back to basics. Will get dash out tomorrow and start over. All comments very much appreciated.
  21. Throttle response ok as far as I can tell. No frayed cables
  22. Hi, unfortunately that just the problem. I cannot turn it over - when you turn the key in the ignition - nothing. Also forgot to say that I changed all the plugs and did the spark test. This was all before I did the matrix so I'm guessing either a fuse or connector is not working. Will check forum for a wiring diagram and take a look at the fuse board just in case.
  23. Thanks for reply, the lead nos are 1342 from TDC. Wish it got this far. There is zero response when you turn the key. You get the pump sound and all the electrics come on - tried all the switches. Other than that - nothing. So the ignition switch removed and the older one put back. Repeated the process but still the key turns but nothing happens.
  24. Hoping someone can assist. Made the fatal mistake of deciding to investigate when car was running ok. Couple of minor problems - poor acceleration and overheating. Neither causing too much problem but thought I'd use the summer nights to take a look. Not a mechanic so used the forum and took advice from the threads on possible issues. So I,ve done the following - Checked injectors spray properly - fine Checked the distributor, looked a bit worn on the rotor arm so replaced everything - distributor, cap, leads Then decided to replace heater matrix for the overheating - so out came the dashboard. Never again! Matrix replaced. Also replaced the fuel pump relay - one spade looked 'burnt' so got a replacement Finally I replaced the ignition switch as this was also something that had never been replaced Result? Car will not start. You put the key in and turn - nothing. All electrics ok, you can hear the fuel pump and there is a feint smell of fuel. Replaced the ignition switch with old one - same problem. My suspicion is something is not back where it should be - although all wires and connectors do seem to be connected back up. Guys, really stuck here. Parked up at home so difficult to get to a garage. Hope someone can provide a few quick pointers for me to follow and get her back on the road. Oh, no alarm/immobiliser.
  25. Hi, just replaced mine of my 1.8 KR -easy to install but engine now not firing. So swapped back the old dizzy and problem persists. Being a complete newbie I did not note the order of the leads on the cap (yes I now know having read the forums) So my question is (and hopefully you will benefit as well from the responses) The leads as you look at the block are 1234 from left - Where is no.1 on the dizzy? I believe the order is 1342 but where is the start point on the dizzy. Is there anything else that needs done once the order is correct? I was hoping this to be straightforward but a complete lack of spark is worrying. Apologies if any of this is posted elsewhere in the forum (I did see one but it sent me to the archive and all I got was some SQL error page???) - I've done a search but could not find a definitive answer. Hope this helps us both.
