  1. Glad to see that at least some members see the humorous side of this post.Went to VW Dealer today as advised by supercharged.Met very serious employee and when I cracked the quip about ejector seats he looked at me as if I had just appeared from a dark place.Never mind purchased parts and looking forward to getting the car going at weekend and I must admit I have had the occasional passenger in the vehicle that I would have enjoyed pressing the ejector seat button.Serious car not so serious owner. Thanks again Tony Jenkins.
  2. Thanks for that appreciate it. Tony Jenkins
  3. Hi everyone.I own a 1990 Corrado 1.8 16v and my son and I have changed the inlet manifold.Unfortunately on removal of the old one we have broken the seats that the injectors fit into when removing the injectors. They were very brittle. Can anyone tell me are these removed by using a hex key and can anyone tell me where I can source some new ones.Possibly a source for new injectors as well? Thanks Tony Jenkins
  4. Hi I have a 1990 Corrado 1.8 16v and I seem to have a problem with the steering. When I turn the steering when moving off the steering seems to judder a lot on either lock.I suspect a problem with the pump as other owners tell me that this is a common problem.Just welcome any advice before going out and purchasing another. Cheers Tony Jenkins
  5. Hi Can anyone recommend where I could get some no frills Insurance for my corrado. It is a basic non modified 16v 1990 and does less than 5000 miles per year.My Insurance is ok for me but I need my 25yr old son to go on as an an additional driver and as soon as I try and add him even though he has a clean Insurance record the price doubles i.e £900 with £300 excess. Cheers Tony Jenkins

  8. I own a 1990 VW Corrado 1.8 16v and about 10 months ago I had a problem with the ignition switch so I replaced it with a genuine VW part.Recently I have had exactlly the same symptoms so I painstakingly removed everything again and replaced the switch again however the problem still exists. The vehicle is ftted with a Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser. The ignition lights come on but as soon a you turn the key that extra turn to engage the starter nothing happens.I have tried this with both the key in the ignition and with the switch removed.Does anyone have an idea what It could be.I removed all the plugs prior to replacement but I did attach the main plug to the switch.I assume the other plugs are just for indicators etc.All help greatly appreciated as I am now pulling out what little hair I have. Thanks Tony Jenkins. p.s lovely cars many problems.
  9. I have a basic 1990 V W Corrado 1.8 16v and I put it into a garage to get the rear shocks replaced. When I first purchased the car I was told that parts were easy to obtain as the suspension was the same as a Golf Mk 2.The garage contacted me today and informed me that the wrong shockers had been delivered three times and they were now a special order and would not be available until after the easter holidays. Can anyone assist? Thanks for your time Tony Jenkins.
  10. I have a 1990 Corrado 1.8 16v and I drove it in the dark for the first time tonight. To be honest I might as well have had two candles lit.Can anyone tell me if there is a way to brighten them like upraded bulbs or the like? Cheers Tony Jenkins

Junior iDubber Group: Forum Member Posts: 9 Joined: 13-October 07 From: Liverpool Member No.: 19,112 Hi Can anyone help? started working my way through faults on my rado and need some advice.I have a drivers side electric window that takes an eternity to close.I popped the door panel off and the motor unit looks very complicated.does the unit come as a whole thing with all the cables or is it possible to just attach a new motor? The other thing was neither of my electric mirrors work.I checked the fuse and this appears to be intact. Is it common for the switch itself to fail Great car but some of the little faults are quite niggly Thanks very much Tony Jenkins
