Well wee update, after realising there was a problem with the fueling and she was running lean I decided to take her down to see Vince at Stealth. After a near enough head rebuilt including valve stem seals and a remap I can honestly say she is a different car. Drives alot better and feels strong. She was also RR whereby she produced 265bhp. I've fitted some RH ZW1's with stainless steel dishes and new taillights and a 90mm front spiltter. Car is now off to get some paint correction and a machine polish in prepartion for Edition38. I've attached some links to pictures of her. (Don't know how to rezise them to appear on this post) Comments and constructive critism welcome. Hi folks, Quick wee question here. Whenever I turn the engine off after a drive I can hear all this gurrgling coming from what sounds like the collant tank. It only last for about 5 seconds or so. The heater matrix was done about 3 months ago, however there is no problems with the heater, mist, and no damp carpets. The coolant level does sit at about 90-100 however. Any ideas what this gurglging noise could be and how to fix it? Cheers Kris

Thanks for the reply folks.

After some advice here. In order to help keep things a bit cooler in the charged Vr6 I thought part of the solution would be to fit a low temp thermostat, thus it coming on more often than a normal one. I've seen a few tuned VR's with these and was wondering if anyone knew where I could source one? Would be much apprectiated. Cheers Kris

One other question, Those that are running tuned VR6's ie supercharged, how do you keep your engines cool? Cheers Kris

So would taking out the injectors, cleaning them and installing a fule pressure regulator combat this? Thanks for the replies so far folks. BTW the car had a top end rebuild about 25k ago.

There is a old dyno graph showing 275bhp however looks like someone made it on the computer, not very proffesional looking. There is a few dyno prints from Jabbasport showing 265bhp and the torque graphs are the same between that one and yesterdays. All the work has been carried out by stealth about 5 years (24k ago) with a engine rebuilt which is eveidenced in previous magazines features and history. It's OBD1.

Hey folks, Desperatly need some adivce here. I currently own a supercharged VR6 Corrado and plan on bringing it up to spec ready for the show season. Now trying to be sensibe, I thought I'd get the engine looked over making sure everything is in tip-top shape before I play around with alloys, touching up paint etc. So I took it to a rolling road yesterday were she produced 250bhp, bit low in my opinion. The guy running the garage said that she is running lean and getting very hot on the rollers (around 50 degrees, not sure what was getting hot though as oil and water temps are spot on). He stated that the loss in power was due to it running lean and to combat this I'd need to fit a fuel pressure regulater and to take out the ingectors and get them cleaned out. This would combat the running lean problem. More worrying he siad that due to the heating up problem, if I drove the car hard over summer I'd melt a piston ring (new engine :( ) He recommended I install a FMIC to combat this. Now I love Corrado's and this is my fourth in the past 2 years, however I'm no mechanic and all this has put the fear of god into me, making me think the car is gonna blow up. Few questions then which I'd be very grateful if you's could answer. 1. What are folks opinions on the above comments? 2. Would a fuel pressure regualtor and cleaning the injectors stop the car running lean and if so, where do I source a fuel pressure regualtor? 3. This overheating problem, I've not heard of charged VR6's running FMIC. Is anyone running one and if so I take it these are a custome made number or is there someone out there who makes them? 4. Why do we spend so much time and passion over these cars? It's a bloddy love/hate relationship. :D :( :D Hope you can help Cheers kris

Hi folks, Though I'd post up some pictures of the car. Some of you remember that I had a blue VR6 Corrado; this one........... http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11 ... 1_3294.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11 ... 1_3297.jpg Unfortuanlty my ex's mother reversered into it, and it was a write off. Lewis (Redrado) bought it off me for a part exchange with his 3.0 Grantmotorsport Corrado VR6. Two weeks later Mike (jenksndubs) and I swapped. He now owns the 3.0litre Corrado and making good use of it, and I took possession of this little number. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11 ... 69/114.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11 ... 69/116.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee11 ... 69/111.jpg It's a L plate supercharged VR6 with just over 100k on the clock. Some of you may remember this car from a while back. All the work has been carried out at Stealth so I know it's been well looked after, and the receipts show this. It's had a fair bit of work done to it before I bought it, including audi door handles, side repeaters deleted, koni suspension, custom boot install, supercharger and loads more. The orginal blue actantara and black leather interior was sold andI bought a cream Storm interior off Mike (jenksndubs) which Andy (justsaymeth) was kind enough to fit for me. I've also replaced the supersprint exhaust with a miltek number, ordered a de-badged grill and got some red rears tailights to fit. I've also sourced some RH ZW1's 9's and the rear with 8's at the front and stainless steal dishes which I'll be picking up later in the week. Anyone have any ideas oen the lack of power? Mapping? Fueling? Charger? The charger only has 15k on from new. I'll get some better pictures up later in the week. Cheers Kris

Cheers guys, Yeah the hole is in the back box and there is also one in the cat. It has had a top end rebuild about six years (20k) ago by Stealth and with the supercharger has had a remap. Although it doesn't feel 280bhp (as the old dyno graphs show). My flatmate is keeping up with me in his 3.0 VR6 which was just dynoed a month ago showing 197bhp!?!?! Kris
