  1. I had the same problem with 2 of my corrados, so I have replaced the polythene bacing behind the door cards. putting the door card back is a bit of an art. Trick is to put the card over the pin of the door lock to hold it before screwing back the card. The water should stay within the door cavity and naturally drain through the holes in the bottom of the door onto a flat cill, rather than find its way through the mastic sealant holding the membrane. VW sell a grey foam liner which you cut to fit.

check the rubbers next to the drop glass so there isn't a massive gap to let water in when it's standing still.

  2. doesn't sound like coolant leak -no smell.

drivers door prone to leaks generated from perforated liner to door car.

I bought a VR6 last year -totally saturated footwell, had to replace sound insulation matt not before I had removed the door cards and sealed a new foam liner -very tricky job

especially getting the door card back on slotting it into place.

steamed up windows have gone even condenation in the boot.

Does the carpet seem damp? water comes in over the rubber lip on the cill.

    Any help?

  3. Have you tried stock grill(painted badge looks better) with eyebrow?as a compromise?

Where did you get your De-Badge Grill with Eyebrow Spoiler from?

I have a seperate eyebrow for one of my Corrados but I haven't fitted it to this one because the replacement rubber to he bonnet protrudes further than

the original so It won't look the same.

I have done some experimenting with styling, but it's interesting we all come round back to stock items.

My badgeless grill has very flimsy vertical supports -one of which has broken, so I bonded in some black exp mesh behind. notice spicy G60s has broken aswell.

I believe you can get integral grille and eyebrow made from polypropelene which is probaly more resiliant -which made me wonder where you got yours from.

I have inpro styling on at present but thinking of changing back and putting some HID in.

FK smoke lights at the back but less than 9 months and the chrome has started to craze.

    how do you add photos?

  4. Has anyone replaced successfully the surround rubbers on the door?

The rubber to the drop glass I have replaced but the surround is not easy to free from the junction between the metal and inner rubber

also the rubber pins holding each end are missing I don't they are still available.

  5. Check the badges first, you wouldn't believe how much water can get in if one of the clips or grommets is missing!

Thanks aclually one of the grommets was pushed back inside the boot.

    cheers

    Philip

  6. Water in Boot

Power washed my car on Friday and experienced damp in boot. may be coincidental.

Looking at the seals they seem to be ok, The damp may be originating from drivers matwell as condensate on rear screen

I have to seal the polythene behind the door card.

    anyone had the problem?

    Phil

  7. Danny Boy,

    Have you sorted it?

Rubbers on the parcel shelf squeek in a higher pitch. Dampers on rear are more muffled My Vr6 does so I am intending to replce all with coilovers when I get some more work in.

    Philip(Broad Sword)
