Yes the fans are coming on, It's not loosing any coolant, with the yellow temperature sensor do you mean the 4 pin unit I changed as this has a yellow plug?

Hi, I'm new here, a quick techinal question regarding my K plate VR6. I've noticed that my water temperature gauge does not work,I bought a new sender unit (4 pin) and fitted it yesterday. I drove the car about 30 miles up the road and it got really hot and the warning light started flashing so i had to stop, also the temperature gauge still didn't work. Has anyone got any idea what's wrong? Jonny
