Ok all ligned up I think put the cam pulley to the mark on rocker cover and got the crank to top dead centre by rotating the flywheel and put the belt on tensioned it up crank pulley moves slightly once you tension the belt but I think you have 3mm of tolerance is that right and rotated manually 3 to 4 times and nothing hitting white mark on crank is lining up with arrow on timing cover and cam pulley is lining up with the rocker cover so good to go :-) how tight should the belt be I tightend it up first and while turning it over the tensioner cam loose do you have to nip the nut up really tight??
-
Ok cool I'll give it a go

Hello so could anyone tell me how to tension the belt up without the bottom crank pulley moving slightly??ligned it all up top dead centre with the flywheel and cam pulley is aligned just having trouble tensioning the belt up without the crank pulley moving 1 tooth??
-
The cam shaft also feels tight to turn over I'm sure I haven't done any damage by just turning it by hand but I think they were tight before ??
-
How do you tension the belt and how will I get it aligned up again now???
-
Now it's ok but how do I re laugh the pulleys now especially the crank pulley???
-
Nope no idea now put belt on tensioned it up then went really tight:-( took the belt off turned the cam pulley with a socket and it went tight:-(
-
How do you get it tensioned up tight??
-
So now I have lined them up is it ok to losen the tensioner off and fit the new without the pulleys moving??
-
I've just manually turned the timing before removal and there is a white dot on the crank pulley and one on the cam pulley the cam pulley is lined up to the arrow on the cam cover and the crank is pointing down central do I not worry about the pulley in the middle?
-
Nope doesn't say on the box it's a dayco kit???
-
Hello all stripped down now just going to take the belt off still have no idea where the timing marks are on the crank and camshaft there are white dots but how do you line them up and where do you line them up or is it just a case of undoing the tensioner and putting a new belt on hoping none of the pulleys move????please help?
-
Yep done that but forgot to take the water pump pulley of now dohhhhhhhhhhhhhh:-(
-
Hello do I just need to take the outer crank pulley off as I'm going to replace the drive belts as well was just going to slacken the alternator off then power steering pump and get them out of the way then can I get to the lower half of the plastic timing cover?
-
So how do you lock the timing?
-
Is it a straightforward job on a corrado to change the timing belt and tensioners can I buy a locking tool for the timing??if not what do I do???

Has been rolling road tested and putting out 164.5bhp at the wheels and that's with the fuelling way out the fuel pressure is way too high so it's running lean all through the rev range so wur mod and should hopefully get high 170s:-)
-
I've just had my car rolling road tested and it's putting out 164.5 bhp at the wheels at 6000rpm with the fuel pressure way too high so I'm going to get the wur done then should be high 170s:-)
-
Will this give me more power it is getting rolling road tested on Monday it's got a tsr flowed head on it as well it's pretty quick anyway but like any old car you have to rev the **** out of it to get the maximum out of it??
-
It's not a 9 a it's a 2 ltr block with a 1.8 16v head it has the standard fuel metering head no ecu just the ignition ecu on the bulkhead??

Has anyone had any experience of adjusting the warm up reg on a 16v corrado I have a corrado with a 2ltr block with a 1.8 head and a audi 80 wur would I get much more power from adjusting the wur???
-
When running I can smell fuel from the top of the metering head is this normal should I change I have another metering head in my garage so Is it just a straight swap or will I have to set anything up??
