  1. Red VR this morning on The road to Rusthall in Tunbridge Wells.. Unfortunately being attended to by the AA :( I'd have tooted but in the Caddy I'd just look like a wierdo!
  2. Today my dash stopped working so I replaced fuse 21 with a new fangled LED fuse so it'll light up if it goes again!
  3. I'm in the middle of moving at the moment, bloody life getting in the way of cars!! Once I find the camera I'll get some stuff up!!
  4. It would make sense that a passat or golf part would fit but my life is certainly never that easy!! Making your own could work, do you want to keep tilt and slide or would just tilt be ok!? Let me know what the stealers say in those parts!!
  5. The current spec of the Corrado is (I'll update this as I remember or change stuff, more for my benefit than anything else!) : AYP 1.8T from a 2000 Ibiza Cupra R, better for what I wanted as it has a forged crank from the factory and the inlet manifold has the throttle body on the passenger side. KO3s Turbo. Forge high temp turbo outlet pipe. SFS silicone turbo inlet pipe. Emerald M3DK3 Standalone ECU with high voltage tacho driver and loom made by me. Turbosmart manual boost controller mounted in the engine bay just fitted while everything is 'test run'. Forge SAI blanking plate. eBay special FMIC with 2" pipe work run as per Audi TT & Seat LCR Corrado power steering pump fitted with 1.8T pulley to run using later serpentine belt. Ibiza Cupra R gearbox bolted straight to original 16v drive shafts. Original 16v gearstick and cables used, shift tower shortened to fit into the later gearbox. ProEngineering all aluminium radiator with kenlowe style fan. Washer bottle moved to the boot. QP Engineering 2.5in stainless downpipe. Powerflow 2.5in 2 box stainless exhaust. Ibiza Cupra R brembos with 302mm discs and Yellow stuff pads & Goodrich braided lines. Weitec GTN mostly coilover suspension. 16" Clio Cup speedlines in Porsche orange with Falken Zeix 912 tyres (can't remember the exact tyre sizes!) 16" Compomotive MOs to be fitted with r888 when track days finally come! Cobra Monaco drivers seat on Cobra 'tailored' subframe which sits far too high! All other interior 'decoration' removed.
  6. It was on ex works Peugeot direct to head throttle bodies, ex works 4-2-1 manifold, forged rods and pistons, big valves etc, 297 inlet cam and 287 exhaust cam and emerald standalone. It was mapped and rr'd with only 200 miles on it at emerald hq, the guy I sold it to had it tweaked and rr'd again after 1500 miles and it made 195!
  7. Hello peoples, I've been a browsing member on here for ages and never really had much to post up but I've got my stuff together and thought I'd share my Corrado project. Sorry if this is a bit of an epic but I get verbal diarrhoea when it comes to my cars! The Corrado is my second track day car project, my first being a N/A 183bhp 16v Saxo : Which I sold years ago after needing money for a mortgage etc :( After a while I decided that I needed something a bit better than the ZX Volcane I was rolling in, so then came an Octavia VRs hatch, then a '91 mk3 VR6, Leon Cupra R. Then I went into business with my brother and needed to free capitol so once again the car bit the dust, but then I saw an eBay ad for an H plate 16v C. It had been kept in a guys garage in Basildon but the council decided that the access to the garage was illegal and that he had to brick it up! So £500 later I owned : not the best pic in the world but I am cack at taking pics. Being an xbox geek the first thing i did was get on forza and have a play with the car creator... I drove the car as standard for a while (can't remember how long!) then got on eBay again and found a set of 16" Compomotive MOs from an E30 bm drift car, flat face onces.. £250 later they were mine! they got fitted and then a friend on ed30 pointed me in the direction of some Ibiza Cupra R brembos, after having Hi-Spec 4 pots in the Saxo I knew i needed those so while working up in Macclesfield I picked them up and waited maybe three months to fit them along with some Weitec GTN coilovers (now i wish i'd got the GTX with coilovers all round, not the GTNs with GTX coilovers on the front and 'adjustable' std shocks on the back : It stayed that way for a while then I decided on a 20VT conversion and the C was parked on the drive, three years ago now. I bought a 115pd mk4 Golf as a daily, then after that got boring bought a Corsa VXR ex demo from a dealer. That then after that started falling apart thanks to wonderful Vauxhall/Opel parts spec'ing and I traded that in against a mk5 R32. All the time I was getting the Corrado together but I'll save that for the 2nd installation because the wife has just shouted at me 'cos dinner is getting cold!! Needless to say I moved again and had to sell the '32 to buy a new kitchen so work in earnest has started on the C again! Thanks for reading!!
  8. for the windows... from vortex : http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4829479-FS-Manual-Window-Regulator-Conversion-Kit-VW-Corrado part numbers for the manual bits needed in the first post, just need to now find if those numbers are listed for any other VAGs
  9. I just bought etka, let me load it onto the craptop and in the week I'll try find out if the 8v window bits were C specific or were used else where
  10. @VR6 .. Agreed but I'm also a financial tight arse and 17 stone, one has to realise that there's only so much you can do The manual windows is a great idea, I was just gonna go with Perspex as its not a daily at all but that would be a good compromise. I didn't know you could get a C with keep fit windows!!
  11. Are you wanting to keep the sunroof functionality or just looking to lose weight? I think I'm doing a similar thing to you and I've had a steel plate made up to blank the sunroof aperture totally as its all about the car diet!!
  12. fitted an oil pressure gauge, which was a faff because on the size of the sender had to get a remote kit which didn't earth to the block so the sender sent nowt! three hours and a sender and a crappy link of wire to provide the earth needed et viola! I love my corrado
  13. Frankie and Alfie's, was traded in against a 182, the interior is immaculate!!
  14. Also had new rad and hoses inside the last year --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?tzufb1
  15. Bonnet pins yes because the bonnet release snapped and he was too lazy to swap it. And no, no track days at all --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?pvnykr
  16. While I remember he hit a deer in it, we straightened the wing as best we could but the drivers side front never quite lined up. Could be a good haggling point if they've not done it. Car is straight but the wing and bonnet are wonky to each other --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?mzkx2p
  17. that was my brothers car, is on weitec coilovers, has a jetex/powerflow exhaust decatted (its too loud for my tastes but..) it runs pretty well he did have a few issues on hot starting. they gave him £400 for it!
  18. Dave... funny story... well its not funny but.. 1.8T transplant that's taken ages because I keep getting the hump with it, plus while owning it I've also had a leon cupra R, corsa VXR and a mk5 R32 as dailys so motivation waned! However, the Golf is gone now and I finished all the dash wiring today! So fingers crossed hopefully you may spot it on the actual road (or an AA flat bed) soon!!
  19. Sorry it's a bit late but that was my brothers, mine's the white one on the driveway in high brooms. He's chopped his in now for a 182 Cup. Traitor.
  20. sorry to drag up an old thread but just wanted to let anyone who may have the same issue know what the problem was. The 1.8T i have has only one oil pressure sensor and the KR had two - one low pressure (black/blue wire) and a second that the dash uses to check pressure at engine speeds of over 2k (yellow wire). Basically i had connected the 1.8T sensor the wrong dash wire! the resolution was to permanently earth the yellow wire, this is the one that causes the light to flash AND the buzzer to sound. I then connected the blue/black wire to the engines oil pressure switch which earths at low pressure illuminating the dash lamp but not sounding the buzzer. I am also fitting an oil pressure gauge to be on the safe side as often the damage is done by the time that warning light flashes!!
  21. dragged I most definitely was(n't) dammit! had a chaotic weekend so have only just got a chance to try any thing! just started the car from very cold and there is no beep, tried disconnecting the oil level sensor to see if the 1.8T and the 16v work inversely (i.e. the 1.8T drops an earth when the level is low but the 16v dash is looking for a dropped earth to say things are normal?). I can run it up to temp to see what happens as the oil warms up & thins as the next door neighbour who works nights has just rolled up for some sleep. god hates me and my corrado, it's true!
  22. I was gonna look this morning but its pouring down here and i'm not that dedicated! All remnants of the K-Jet and all it's associated paraphernalia have been removed but i left the loom of wires coming from the fusebox into the engine bay so that i could perhaps get the MFA and oil level sensors working at a later date! If it clears up tomorrow i shall have a look, this afternoon is out as i'm being dragged to see Bryan Adams! Cheers for your help dannyboy
  23. Ah I see, there were two red/blacks and one green/black but no plain green in the bundle coming through the bulkhead drivers side, i'll have a better look tomorrow but that would sound about right - the oil warning light was flashing before even though level and pressure are good!! I'll let you know tomorrow how I get on. I have a lot of PDFs and stuff but it has baffled me! The driver was about £40 from Emerald I think. It's been three years in the making already, this isn't gonna put me of haha, I may even get a project thread up at some point!
  24. Hi, I have '90 1.8 16v that i have transplanted an ibiza AYP 1.8T lump & gearbox with Emerald management, all is running ok and has been initially mapped by Dave at Emerald, just tidying up and running around a bit to make sure all is good before flat out mapping. Anyway.. the tacho didn't work so i got an Emerald tacho driver to convert the 12v output from the ECU into the coil type voltages needed to drive the early tacho. With this fitted the tacho now works fine, spot on with the output shown when i connect the laptop to the diagnostics but i now have a beeping from the dashboard that wasn't there before i connected the tacho driver to the red/black tacho wire in the engine bay. Sorry for the rambling but i wanted to set the scene a bit in there was something blindingly simple i have missed, does anyone have any idea what this might be? There are other wires from the KR still left disconnected but these were disconnected before i connected the tacho driver. I'm confused, any help will be gratefully received! cheers, Ian
