  1. Got home today and a big WTF came over my face as I realized my rear wheels are missing!!!! :(
  2. Finally another update. Had a couple of hours to burn today and wanted to get started on this before I go back to work on Thursday. As you can see my engine bay was just CLOGGED with dirt. Absolutely filthy!!! EVERY owner of this Rado (I think Im the 4th), dailied it, and now that I have a chance to take it off the road I can see how bad its gotten. Look at that buildup! I ground up a bit of the dirt using a screwdriver since it was so caked on not even a harsh brush was getting thru it... OIL EATER FTMFW!!!! I spray that on like Im taking a bath in it, and waited about 5 minutes before scrubbing into it (this was after I removed all that loose dirt btw) Then, thanks to this guy to help me clean it off! Its supposed to be used for interior like carpet inside a house, its a portable steam cleaner but it works WONDERS for removing grime!!! Got a few brackets removed too since I dont need em.. I only had the time to remove the ones that are holding down the harness on the passenger side, the one on the strut area, battery hold-down and the window resivour one today. Some of them are a PAIN to remove!!! SpLOOOOGEEEE! Battery hold out All in all, for about 3 hours of work Im satisified for today.
  3. I think I am going to remove most of it, because I will be removing teh dash to take out the blower motor and the AC and heater core stuff because I wont be running either of them anymore. As for the holes, I know there is the one in the passenger side that I could use to get the ECU wiring out from there, yes? behind the passenger side strut tower, or is there some other place you would recommend?
  4. Haha thanks, Im like the biomechanic man, except I can only move my arm within a certain range of motion right now. Oh well I seem to get by, as long as I can weld and grind them down, I hope I should be ok. I really do think that Ive went nuts. I had about 300 or so hp in the rado before I ripped it apart, for some reason I just got bored with it and wanted to go all out. Wish me luck!
  5. My bad! Kyle reminded me that I forgot to give you guys an update on my work. I just recently went thru major reconstructive surgery on my arm, so the car has slowed down on progress a bit. Major as in I have to wear a brace on my arm for 9 months..... Well, I guess you could say I got a wild hair up my ass and got bored w ith only 12psi on the T04s 60-1..... This is the last time anyone saw the car running... Now, a lot of work started to take place, like removing my old motor.... Keep in mind I have a SMALL garage to work with because its full of SHIT all over the place. BYE BYE OLD TURBO! You will be missed... As you can probably tell the New Mexico desert doesnt take kindly to driving a Corrado everyday...dirt GALORE! Messy Space! I have a LOT of work ahead of me :( Well after removing the motor I got the head off with the help of a friend sicne I cant really use my left arm (did I mention Im left handed?), So that was a good feat. Later headspacer! Exhaust a bit hot? My old SPEC Stage III Clutch and pressure plate. (trying to sell BTW) I have sold TONS of stuff from my old setup already, including my old headspacer from C2, The turbo, etc. Old turbo No more Bosch 440cc injectors. And sadly, no more Schmidt Modernlines. I absolutely LOVE the wheels, but they are being sold to someone on here actually, and his plans are going to be AMAZING looking that I am jealous. Now, for anyone interested. Here are my plans that will be going on over this winter. I have sadly sold all this, but I am going to be doing a full rebuild on the motor which includes JE 8.5:1 forged pistons, forged rods and ceramic bearings with balanced internals that will be bored out to a 3 Liter. And a LOT of head work. Im talking oversized valves, port and polishing and keeping the stock cams but using titanium retainers and HD springs. Im looking for reliable revs up to 7500rpm. As far as the turbo I had to basically sell my wheels to help fund it, as I am upgrading all of this to a GT4088R. Capable of 700HP without much effort, I wont be spooling this until about 4500rpm (4k rpm previous turbo), but the flow is MUCH more amazing and it will be the dual ball bearing type, that in itself costs right about 2K, so you can see why I had to sell the wheels. I think I am still going to stick with the C2 OBD2 software but the 630 file if it is capable of going to the limits that I need, not sure if I will need a custom tune from them or not. More importantly, there is going to be CHROME thru my engine bay. My Schimmel SRI, valve cover to name a few will be chromed because if Im going all out I might as well make it ballin!!! Last and most imporant to me (and most time consuming) will be the shaved bay! Kyle (PiercedWinky) motivated me to shave the bay and hide the wiring, so while my engine is out, why not?!?!?!?!?! Thats it for now!!! OH PS, Heres pictures of my 3000K HIDs in the e-codes. See the cut off? and yes they are yellow HIDs
  6. True. Although youre more likely to catch on fire ;). Auto belts, you better take them out, take out all the wiring, take out the insulation, the dash, the seats, just take it all out and put ford stuff in that way it will break down at 100,000 miles.
  7. Your destiny is sealed.......G60, and welding with the insulation in there. Seems like you dont even need a working engine to start a fire in that beast!
  8. Lol, I told him last week that I shipped the 2nd one I had out since apparently USPS cant find the other one :nono:
  9. I wish you had had the right one, but yeah I guess I need to find one from a coilpack car, but that will probably be near impossible.
  10. Wow, so earlier today, I accidentally asked a customer "anything else I can do you for?" instead of "can I help you with anything else?" Oops. :gag:
  11. You need to start workin on this thing! I expect a shaved bay by DATR!
  12. I have yet to scrub the rain tray....especially by the hinges the bolts holding them on are AT LEAST 1mm larger than normal because of all the grime. Other than that, I have NO idea how Im going to do the firewall....hahaha. Thats the thing I like about this OBD2 business, is that its adaptive software which makes it nice, just throw mods at it and go! haha.
  13. To say the least! haha, Thanks for the comments. It is nice to have Schimmel in the states with me, thats for sure. I just wish sometimes I didnt have to cut my left arm off to pay for a part of theirs. It was definitely worth the gains/looks though! As for the vortex, I have the same name on there as I do here. (Gilboyto). Its been definitely a place of rescue sometimes, if their nice enough. haha. Ive looked at standalone, and thought about it for a while, Im just amazed at how much better this tune from C2 runs on OBD2 with their 42# software versus the "experimental" sign a waiver and we will sell it 42# dizzy setup before.
  14. Paint your strut bars the color of the wheels! Takata Green!!!!
  15. Yeah I think mcnair really needs to hit this place up for sure. His car is AMAZING clean. I actually thought about meth, but I was hoping that the AWIC would do its justice, do you tihnk meth would be good just for some added safety?
  16. haha! It used to be my daily, but lately I have run into another car that Ive been driving everyday so it gives me some more time to clean it up inside and make it more how I want it. I have been slowly removing the rear seats entirely and making a false floor for the rear. Other than that, just a clean bay, and a differential.....thats definitely a weakpoint right now so I try not to bash on the transmission too hard. I want to try and rebuild the transmission myself, but Ive heard its VERY difficult to do....any thoughts? The only other things I want are racing seats, and PiercedWinky is helping me do a suede headliner and a b and c pillars on the car soon when I visit. I already have the manual belts to lose some weight, and want the aero/mono wiper as well.
  17. I can say the least that I am definitely addicted to the turbo VR now. I have never had a turbo car before, but now it seems thats all I want to do to it. I have even sold off some of my stereo equipment to lose extra weight from the subwoofer and enclosure to have funds for more go-fast goodies :) Thanks for the welcome!
  18. Correct, its just a stock motor with arp hardware and a stainless headspacer from C2. We will have to see what I run when I get a change to dyno I guess haha. Someone around me with same setup except a smaller T4 is running at 15psi just over 350 at the wheels. Hopefully someday I will get a chance to dyno it!
  19. thanks for the comments guys! Currently, I dont have any figures but at 18psi, I am hoping to be right around 400 at the wheels minimum
  20. Hey all, I was told to register here because of the awesome atmosphere by PiercedWinky. So I hope I can fit in :). I am usually surfing around on the VWVortex, about 10 hours a day while I work. It seems like I can be distracted pretty easily. Anyways, Ive only had my Corrado since May of 2007, but since then it has undergone surgery SEVERAL times, while the entire time is was my daily driver. I swapped out the motor because of a completely blown headgasket, that had been rebuilt with ARP headstuds and rod bolts. From there I just swapped into a turbo kit. ATP Manifold, ITS T04S 60-1 Turbo, custom 4" MAF housing, Samco Coolant lines, etc etc and the list can go on FOREVER, literally. It didnt run the way I wanted it to since I was running a sort of experimental software running it with a distributor driven motor. I recently just completed an OBD2 conversion from a Passat and Jetta that I found at the junkyard. Needless to say, it runs AMAZING now and I am happy with the results. Heres a few pictures of it currently. It is messy, but the paint, is well....horrible on the hood so it isnt on it right now. Rollin on Schmidt Moderline 16x9 all around et 25 front et 15 rear. When I first got the motor running it was pretty ugly sight! This is what it looks like currently. Sorry for the bad cell phone pic.
