Yeah I was thinking a second opinion but thats two garages its been to and both are saying that there is no way the track rod is coming off. I'll have a pop at it tomorrow with some heat and some bodge-grips :)

Someone has very kindly rounded the nuts to the tie rods on our 1995 N reg corrado. I was told by the tyre shop that it would really need a new steering rack and tie rods to fix the problem. I then realised i have a dormant mk2 golf with power steering..... my question is.... are they the same or am I living in fantasy land? help is most appreciated.

My Girlfriend (Kimbo on the Forum) was driving the C home earlier and said she could smell a slight burning smell. Having then travelled a bit further she noticed smoke coming from around the ignition Barrel area. She then did the sensible thing and pulled over, and switched the car off. I came and looked at it later on and took the steering column cover off and exposed the block connector on the back of the barrel the black and yellow wire closest to the camera had melted the insulation away and exposed the bare wire as can be seen in the next picture. I realise this is obviously where the problem is but what can i do to stop it? I dont want the car going up in flames with my girlfriend inside it. I'm not sure if its relevant but i also noticed that one of the connections had been 'removed' and replaced with a spade connector as can be seen below.

Right well thanks for all your tips and hints. We have now solved the issue by ripping out all the old immobilsors and putting the original wiring back together. Thankfully the key was all matched to the car so that worked aswell! one working Rado!!! cheers guys, now all i have to do is sort out my bloody skoda!!!

Good afternoon I was hoping you guys could help....... We're having a few problems with our 2ltr 8v 1995 Corrado. It all started a while ago with the key fob having problems with chewing up batteries every two weeks or so which wouldnt have been a problem but the only key we have for the car works the ignition and not the doors so the fob is our only way into the car and essential for starting the car. We kept changing the batteries which was fine but eventually that didnt work, the fob works but the cars not recieving the signal for some reason. Having now rummaged around I have found 3 seperate alarm systems have been fitted to the car. Two are inactive 1 is active. The active one appears to be the original VAG item due to the branding on it. It has two multi plugs 1 big and 1 small when unplugging the big one all the systems work all the dash lights come on but the starter wont turn at all. As apposed to when it is connected no systems come on and no dash lights. Is there an easy way of removing or rewiring this device so we can start and drive the car without the key fob?
