  1. Hi Jim, Thanks for that, I have a family friend who is pretty handy come engine mechanicals so I am going to be leaning on him soon, so that is a good place to start. Are the injectors easily accesable to clean or replace?? Cheers Angus
  2. HI All, I could really use some help in diagnosing a small glitch with my VR6 Corrado and hope some nice kind person can help! My car when cold has an ever so slight 'cough', almost a hesitation, like i have flicked my foot off the accelerator quicker than Bruce Lee gives Norris a nudge...! Sorry, I digress.... I have done the simple change plugs and leads to begin with, all the old plugs to be fair were OK, not soiled / oiled etc, the leads were shocking and as a result there has been a little improvement. I have also chucked a bottle of Wynns Hydraulic valve lifter treatment for good measure and again it does seem a little better, but it's still there. There is no evident lose of power in the car, i have owned Corrie for two years and she still screams when called upon once up to temperature. Speaking of temp, both the oil and water temps are always where they should be, the car doesn't burn oil and overall runs a reasonable mpg, so i guess doesn't waste fuel either. Once warm, the car is pretty much flicker free, second gear when cold is where the murmour seems to be, but warmed up second gear is awesome as you would expect. Corrie has only covered 80,000 miles, the engine does sound sweet, never cuts out and I want to get it running right. My areas of guess are wondering whether its a) the tappets b) one / some of the valves are sticking c) pistons worn (please no...!) If anyone has an experience of this / can help, I would be massively thankful, I want to make sure Corrie gets looked after in my ownership and if the engine needs to come apart in the near future then so be it....!! I look forward to hearing from you  Cheers Angus
  3. Hi there Millerman, Thanks ever so much for the information, invaluable! I was hoping the car could remain standard and it's nice to know the standard bushes from VW are as good as anything else. I will get cracking  ! Cheers Angus
  4. HI There, I have owned a lovely 95 plate VR6 for a couple of years now, 76K on the clock, full VAG history and totally standard in shiny shiny blue. I have yet to 'tinker' with the car, however I have been speaking to a few people and they have suggested that I start with the current rubber bushes on the car, both the suspension and engine mounts and I will see a staggering improvement to the handling that I currently experience (not that it's eactly shabby right now! ). I have standard suspension set up, too poor to upgrade currently  , but would like to make a start on re newing the bushes and wonder which ones will make a significant impact to the handling of the car? Can anyone also comment whether i should keep to OEM bushes or consider buying from the likes of Powerflex? Thanks for the help in advance! Angus
  5. Re Pianowire, i sold it before market decided to pass free fall so only lost £500 after a year of owning. The Corrado is a good price at the minute, a cash car if you, that you can return to your youth with, except now you have cash, so replacing worn bushes, buying decent coil overs, an Alpine system, not Lidl's special CD player, so the Corrado makes great sense to own as a cash car, selling it on in 2 years time, when the market picks up and for the same if not more than i bought it, due to it being a sub 70,000 mile car and serviced by VAG each and every year of it's life (even the 2 years it was SORN! :cuckoo: ). SO why sell you Corrado and buy another car that will just depreciate for the next few years like a sinking stone and be relatively worthless come 2011 :gag: ?? Keep the Corrado, add some vigour , change the look, shape, bhp, colour, bumper, even do a swap for a G60, or a VR6, which ever one you haven't got
  6. I sold my 52 plate 330 CI Clubsport Coupe then got me a Corrado VR6, the 330 is lovely, but dull, definately slightly slower and yes there are too many of them around. I would also note that it is not a 'sports car' in the traditional sense, more of a coupe cruiser that does respond on the motorway, but feels too commercial down the twisties, and i always regretted the fact that it wasn't an E46 M3...!
