Yeah you can buy them separately I think I managed to buy genuine ones of the net for around £25 last year. I think it was something like vwspares if I can find the name ill send it to you. I would bleed the brakes afterwards replacing or cleaning the sliders. It will be better to replace them as when I tried cleaning mine before I replaced them, the rubbers tore on the seal. Its not a hard job plus means your brakes will work better. While the caliper is off try and work some grease in to the hand brake lever on the back of the caliper too. Forgot to say make sure when you bleed the brakes make sure you start from the furthest from the master cylinder to the closest. The sliders are quite common to going, I've had a few sieze on my vw's Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

It could be the sliders that the calipers sit on, as I had issues with those. Or could be air in the brake lines maybe? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

Annoying predictive text, but vr6 is right rib strips are a tasty bbq'd snacks. But unfortunetly these ones you are can't eat, they are the rub strips from the side of the car. Lilfuzzer where do you live? Just wondering if ill pass on my travels and I can drop it to you, otherwise postage is fine Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2

If you unplug the connectors that connect to the rear screen and put a multimeter across them and see if you get 12v when you turn it on from the switch you can try and eliminate the problem from there. Also check your mirrors too as my drivers mirror was causing the circuit to short before as they are heated too

Ok cool, Does anybody have one for sale at the moment then ??? If not I'll try and make a new cable up for it as the motor is still running well with no noises
