avoid GAP security like its the plague! i had my alarm fitted by them a few months back. it was fitted by a 2 chavs driving a vectra(trained professionals apparently) the clifford alarm itself it a great piece of kit and so far not had any problems but the fitting is terrible. im taking out the interior in my vr6 atm and am finding all the wires they have tapped together. they have cut original wires and taped in new instead of running new ones. bodged by my standards. when i complained they said they would send the same cowboy back or someone different could come but i would be charged.shocking service
-
ok im stripping out the interior my c cuz im goin to be tidying it up and i found this It def cant be VAG(unless they use black tape to attach things) im prob jus going to rip it out but i dont want to remove anything i shouldnt. im after a bit a reassurance. the corrado had an in car phone when i got it so it may be some of the remains i missed when i removed it this part was on the inside of the wing: this antena was up behind the seatbelt cover trim or whatever its called so anyone know what it could be?

ok i have stupid question: i have a rhd vr6. the standard exhaust manifold is only 2 branch so does this 6 branch fit in place of the standard? or does it require something else?
-
paint work is looking good.like the two different colours. you said you smoothed in the roof but i guess you have now un-smoothed the sunroof. how did you smooth it in the first place? the lights in the install are a nice touch and those glow in the dark wheels look great(not keen on the red though) look forward to more updates
-
yep it was a stupid question  i got plenty more where that come from :? any chance of some pics or do they just look the same as standard manifolds?
-
cheers guys i didnt have the correct tool to fit the rear bushes Emkay. i just used a g cramp and plenty of copper slip :) it slid in easy enough The rear calipers/carriers are from the Mk3 golf but they are a direct replacement to the originals. i will try and find part numbers for ya. price... alot from vw. refurb is definitely the cheaper option the fronts arnt standard so they needed brackets but they came with the kit from AP. there was also some grinding needed to fit the discs and brackets to the bearing housing. well worth it though

update time :D im soooooo happy i have final got the old girl sitting on all fours. gave her a (quick)wash and took some even quiker pictures. here she is: btw the green in the paint work is the reflection from the temporary cover i built i have still got plenty to do. sorting out the ride height is first on the list. as you can see its a little low atm. then i need to bed in the brakes because they are rubbing a bit on the rears. then its due for some tlc in the garage, then .....

the Cs looking great. repair job looks top notch and i love the black rear badge, nice touch id be tempted to change the color of the number plate surround though -
i appreciate that thanks. last thing i want is to drop the subframe for no reason
-
can i have a definite yes or no as to whether the arb is fitted correctly. i dont want to take it off(which will be a nightmare) to find out i didnt need to change it
-
ok so the arb is the right way up because it clears the exhaust. so thats not the problem can anyone uploads pics of what there front ARB/drop links look like so i can compare the setup to mine?
-
im sorry for bringing more problems to the forum but im stuck. i have looked for answers but cant find them which way is the front arb fitted on a vr? this is how its currently fitted iv taken pics to show the problems: sorry for the quality im 99% sure that the ARB is up the right way but does it attach above or below the wishbone? if its below then it dangerously close to the wheel when i try to fit it above it rubs against the wishbone help please. what am i doing wrong? i cant see how turning the arb over will change anything. the only things i can think off are that the arb is too long(although its for a vr), or the drop links are to long. i got them from gsf and im sure they were for the vr6 anyone had similar problems? or can anyone tell me whats wrong? thanks

thanks for replies guys. so the conventional method(releasing nipple, pressing brake peddle) doesnt work? i never thought of bleeding from the master cylinder. i will try that as far as the abs pump goes i havent a clue. where is it located and how do u bleed it  im going to check my manual now
