  1. You definitely don't forget owning one. I still peep in my rear view mirror when accelerating to watch the spolier come up! (Obviously doesn't happen!) I saw a Corrado last night coming off the M25 and went to wave/flash hazards etc! Definitely regret not replacing my valver with a VR6...
  2. Had a white early valver, swapped that for a 205 GTi, then got a BMW Compact. Now have a Alfa GTV V6. But I think in the new year I'll be back in a Corrado. I fancy a white VR6...
  3. Looks great on the sebrings kip... Real nice clean car
  4. Real nice car mate, looks very clean. Also, liking the RH's. Nice spec as well. (Looks red to me! - Time to move on isn't it?!!!) What's the plans????
  5. I'll try and find a nice new one for you! It'll be good to the car back before you go away. Thing is at the end of the day, I thought I'd sell mine or take it off the road. But I like the car so much I just bit the bullet and was prepared to pay the potentially huge bill. For the money, nothing really comes close to a Corrado if you ask me.
  6. Got it back last night. Drives like a dream. No more squeaking from the belts, no more water loss. Final cost was £180. So not too bad. Needs to be taxed next week though and I am heading over my agreed mileage so more cost there too! Tyres needed soon too... My mate who was working on the car was amazed at how much attention it gets out on the road. Jon - I am afraid I owe a quid!!!!
  7. Thanks Aide, the car has now been fixed using a 2nd hand cooler and will be back in my possession tonight. Also had: New expansion tank Lid Oil change Filter Fan belt PAS belt Rad flush Premium coolant (the red/pink stuff!) Can't wait! Hate that Citroen!
  8. Just got a call from my mate who's working on the car. Says the oil cooler was "rusted to f**k" and there was a leak from one of the pipes. Doesn't explain the mayo on the dipstick though... The car has been running for 20 minutes and no change to water. I drove it for 10 minutes last night then stopped and I had lost water. The plot thickens...
  9. Really like this mate. Love to have a track day weapon. Did an MG track day as a passenger a couple of months ago. Was surfing eBay for cheap MGF's by the afternoon on my phone! Resisted though! 130bhp is strong power from a 8v too isn't it?
  10. Can't beat a white one! Looks clean too. Edit: You wanna sell that ABT no plate surround???
  11. You're on. Wanna make it interesting? Pound bet?!!!
  12. So, all sorted. Dropping the 'Rado off tomorrow night, will collect on the way home from work Friday. Also having the fan and power steering belts done. Laid Up: The beast:
  13. Thanks again guys. Bitten the bullet... Because I just can't do without a car at the moment it's booked in to be done on Tuesday with a view to getting it back on Friday. So that's Citroen C1 love for me this week, pics to follow! Shame I don't have a spare All Star sticker to put on it! I know it's not the most ecomonical way to do it, but need wheels and love driving the Corrado. I'll post a pic of the bill on Friday!!!!
  14. Thanks for the support guys. Looks like I will take it off the road for a little while and get some other things sorted at the same time. Can't bring myself to sell it! Jon - can we talk about maybe doing this ourselves? Let me know when you're back. You still have my mobile number? I'd really appriciate the help. I'll keep you updated...
  15. Cheers Kip, glad to see the wheels are coming along. It IS the head. Oh &*^$£%^%&$"£""!"$$%%$£££$%% Holding back the tears(!) and trying to negotiate a sale to a mechanic mate of mine so he can fix it up in his own time. Currently, I can't be without a car, so I have to buy another ASAP. I do have the use of a Citroen C1, but I'd rather [strike:1w4tss80]walk[/strike:1w4tss80] kill myself
  16. Jon, there's never any water on the floor. It's a mystery!
  17. Booked in with the local German car specialist for Monday. Now filling it up on a daily basis! Guessing it's definitely a leak!!!
  18. OK, more on the water issue. Filled it to MAX yesterday morning. Drove it 2 miles to the station. Left it all day. Came back to it after work, lifted the bonnet, water is below MIN. No water on the floor though. Any ideas?????
  19. Sorry to hear that mate. ABF it. I had a mk2 Golf GTi 8v with an ABK (same difference) bottom end. Nice bit of grunt!
  20. Jon, definitely interested in the tyres. I assume it's leaking out of somewhere. Where I don't know. Job for the weekend. Has been using water slowly, but has sped up of late. All happened since I did a flush, maybe the pipe I took off perished or wasn't put back properly?
  21. Bit of an update. All problems though! Turns out 2 of my wheels have an offset of ET35 and 2 have ET30. I discovered this by shredding the outside of the rear passenger tyre (ET30) and getting suspension rub, albeit mild, on the rear driver (ET35)! So I now have both ET30 on the rear and have raised the ride height. But am now on the lookout for 195 width tyres! Kerbed one of wheels and took out a chunk of tyre. The car will not hold any water, I am filling it up every 2 days. Still love the car though!!!
  22. From all angles my Rado is the best car I've owned so far. It's in better condition and just as well made as my 2008 Ford Focus (wife's fault in the Focus condition stakes - she thinks it's a bumper car!) and it's a million times better to drive! It's reliable Not too bad on fuel Costs £127 to insure (classic policy) It never fails to get attention wherever it goes It cost me £1200 last November and has cost me (including £325 of wheels) another £600 since.
