So, the top brackets on my radiator are just rusted lumps now and need replacing. Just enquired at VW whilst getting other bits and they no longer stock any of the top fixings for the radiator. So now what? Is there a common bodge to replace these fixings or maybe another source? I'm sure it can't be that difficult but thought I'd check on here first in case there was a popular way of going about it

So that's what the VEGE stickers mean! I'm just fitting a replacement VR6 engine that I've picked up for my corrado. It's got a yellow VEGE sticker on the block and a yellow sticker on the end of the head, both of which look very recent. It did make me wonder if it was a recon, as it's also very clean. I know it wouldn't have taken much to google 'VEGE' sooner but now I have after reading this.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll be going for a Hella which I'll be fitting myself. There's plenty of rust on the brackets. Are they still available from VW? Be nice to get everything going back together clean and shiny!

I'm thinking of replacing my ropey old radiator before I put it back in. Already got the cowling off for powder coating. Is there a standard source for a replacement radiator that people use, or are there many varying opinions on the best replacement?

Each I'm afraid! Can't expect too much from main stealer!

Just thought I'd post this as a new thread as well in case others were after them. If doing a radiator refurb, the plastic guide rings that surround the fans are available from VW for £10.12 plus VAT. The part number is 357-121-210 and they are exactly the same as the originals that always fall apart when taking the shroud off. Hope this helps because I did read somewhere on the forums that this part is no longer available, but it is.

Just picked up the parts from VW. Got the nice new plastic fan guide ring on the table in front of me next to the busted one I've taken off. They are exactly the same and the part number is 357-121-210. They are £10.12 plus VAT. Happy days! Now if this thunder and hail would stop I can crack on with putting it back together!

I'll be collecting mine tomorrow so will update with the part numbers. I think my receipt is out in the car so I'll grab the numbers in the morning.

Looking for a good nick slam panel that I can blast and powder coat. There seems to be several on eBay from valvers and early Corrados. I need one for a moonlight blue VR6. Are they all the same dimensions? I was going to simply get the one that looks to be in the best condition for blasting

If anybody is interested. VW still supply the plastic fan surround for a tenner each. Just need to blast and powder coat the cowling now. Progress!

I want to replace the manky old black tape that wraps up the bunches of cables in my engine bay. Anyone know what I can use to replace this? Looked on eBay for automotive electrical tape/wrap and other search headings but can't seem to find anything similar

I see there a few Golf fans with coweling on eBay. Anyone know if this will be the same as the Corrado?

Apologies if this has been covered before. I have searched the forum but could not find much on it. I'm just about to put my VR6 engine back in the car and I thought whilst the radiator is out I'd give it a clean up. The problem is that it seems to have fallen apart. The cowel is well rusted and all the plastic around the fans has disintegrated a I took it apart I can see there are radiators readily available online but have been unable to find the coweling and the plastic inserts around the fans Can anyone recommend a source for these bits? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Mine did have a K&N cone on it when I took it out but it's looking quite old and battered. Putting a lower mileage engine back in and just looking for the best replacement. Been reading about the warm air affecting the cone filter... Other option seems to be the Pipercross Viper

It's just a quick one really. I'm in the process of putting my vr6 back in and am looking at air filters/induction kits/intakes. The BMC CDA is looking like a possible winner, I'm just struggling to find a supplier. Can someone tell me the best place to get one please?

Hi. I'm finally getting round to putting the engine back in my Corrado VR which has been sat since last summer. The problem I've got now is the engine mount bolts have either snapped when removing or have been misplaced in my pile of bits. Can anyone tell me where I can get replacements? I've got new mounts all round, just the standard ones, and assumed the bolts would be included but they're not Any help please?

Is the drivers side wing any good? Mine is the only panel letting my car down at the mo. Cheers

Hello everyone. So, after about 3 years of my beloved Corrado VR6 sitting on the drive turning green and the numerous notes left on the windscreen asking if I'd sell it I have decided to show it some love. The engine is out and I've got a replacement with 73k waiting to go back in (it's predecessor had 240k before it finally started to get a bit noisy and smokey) Anyway while the engine is out I'm looking at replacing the mounts. I've been on the verge of getting some Vibra Technics for weeks now but just can't justify that kind of expense at the moment. So I think I'm going to stick with the stock mounts for now but I thought before I do I'd see if anyone had any good advice in this department. Do I have many choices around the stock price range? Is there a particular supplier people recommend? I've looked at GSF but they're currently out of stock of the rear mount and I'd like get them all together ASAP. I'm sorry if this has been covered many times before but I never seem to have much success at searching the forums Cheers all
