  1. Hi all, I've stripped my coilovers off of the car this morning and all is not good. See Below I'm hoping somebody out there has had this problem before, I'm going to have to order new collars, I've tried Venom Motorsport but they say it'll take 2-3 weeks to get hold of them. If anyone can help please get in touch as my car is now stuck on a ramp
  2. Well I'm truely ****ed off, I've managed to strip off the coilovers from the car finally as I wanted to free up the collars but disaster has struck. I'm hoping that I can refurb these so if anyone knows how please let me know. Ive contacted venom motorsport in order try and source some new collars but they are £12 each and i'd like to replace all 8 of them. The cost isn't an issue but venom say that they'll take 2-3 weeks to get them which I can't really keep the car on the ramp until they turn up and i'm not sure I'm happy with refitting them in this state.
  3. Well it's been 6 months since my last update and I thought I'd put some pics of the VR lately. I've basically spet my time de-chavving the car and repairing thing to keep her in tip top condition. So far I have removed: 1. Ghastly M3 Style aerial 2. Storm Single Wiper Conversion 3. Angel eye style headlights In the past few months ive fitted various wear and tear parts: 1. Lamba Sensor (Due to finding the wire damaged, which explained why the engine used to run like a pig in the rain) 2. Ball Joints 3. Track rods and ends 4. Catalytic converter for just 2 weeks when the MOT was due. 5. Full service including filters and plugs Well this is where Im at as of today but i'm on easter leave for a couple of weeks so i'm planning to strip off the konigsport coilovers and try and free up the collars next week as I'd like to be sitting just a little lower
  4. Short term plans are to get the car mechanically sound. I have to sort the wooly steering, so I'm changing the ball joints tomorrow! Aswell as an oil change an lower the car about 20mm all round. Long term plan is to save enough money to put an r32 engine in just to give some reliable power.
  5. I couldn't justify spending £2000 on a set of wheels! I'd sooner put the extra money towards an r32 engine!
  6. Yes they are mate, they are the 17x8 with 5 mm spacers all round so they are et30.
  7. Thanks for all the feedback guys, I hadn't considered painting the surrounds of the headlights black. I think that might look good! I'll have to look for a pic of the black version of my lights
  8. Yeah thats what I thought, I already have an advert in the wanted section asking if there is anyone with one in good condition who'd like to exchange
  9. Hi all I'm putting up an update to see what people think. I've been saving up yo get rid of the horrible 18's that were on my vr6 when I got it. I hope the new wheels are an improvement.
  10. Have just read the reviews on the Hankook V12's and they look awesome. Good price too, thanks pete!
  11. And spending £1000s on a turbo conversion and run the standard fuel pump  It would be ok if the previous owner hadn't spent £600+ on aftermarket headlights, fogs and rear lights :cuckoo:
  12. My car is classic green pearl so probably bronze ones. Are yours just ET35 all round? I was thinking about going for parada spec 2 205/40R17 tyres all round
  13. If i'm being honest the handling is shocking at the moment and it's really getting me down lol. I'm really looking forward to getting it sorted
  14. I am pete have just been waiting for some cash to come available, should be a matter of a couple of weeks now. Gonna go with rota force 17x8 all round and head for more of a fast road setup. The car is going to JKM in portsmouth at the end of the month for a full mechanical checkup, service and dyno run. I'll let you know how I get on!
  15. Hi all, just thought I'd give everyone a heads up on these tyres. I purchased my VR6 months ago and the previous owner has put these tyres on the rear of the car. They are Fullrun HP199 215/35r18 and they are nothing short of dangerous!! I first began to notice the problem as I began to drive the car faster into corners and the back end let go on a dry road. This is extremely amplified in the wet! I have had the back end of the car step out at as little as 30mph in light drizzle. My worst and most terrifying experience was on a country road between the town of uppingham and rockingham which was one of my all time favourite roads. The back end began to drift at 70mph and I only managed to catch it because of some past experience in kart racing. I dread to think what might have happened. Anyone who considers buying these tyres will commit an :epicfail:
  16. Saw a Purple/Mauve corrado this morning at about 0745 on the M275 on the way into portsmouth. When I slowed to have a look, i realised that it was a woman driving and she was gorgeous!!! I was so shocked I can't remember the Reg lol! Made my day tho!!
  17. I may be being stupid but i've seen no mention of a spring compressor. Maybe you should use some in order to shorten the standard shocks before you attempt to fit them
  18. Hi mate I have two of these sat in my garage if you're interested in trying another and seeing if the fault is replicated. Let me know where in the country you are
  19. Yeah I really like the ZW1's but i've always been a bid fan of keskins, I have a set of kt5's on my 16v but I might go for 17x8 kt1's all round with 205/40r17s stretched over them so I can sit nice and low and not have to worry about scrubbage.
  20. I was grinning from ear to ear on the way home, it sounds awesome!!! Full milltek system with a dubpower manifold and decat is the stuff dreams are made of!! and yes the arches are rolled
  21. Hi guys, I picked up my first VR6 at the weekend and i'm chuffed! All I have to do now is put my own mark on it. You may have seen it for sale on the forum I'm still undecided exactly what I want to do but I think the first step is to downsize the 18's that are on it, think I'm going to go 17x8's all round
  22. Much apreciated mate, i'll get it removed then, it'll help with tidying out the engine bay, I'l put a metal plate over the hole as the intake for the 1.8t is on the other side. Cheers
  23. Hi guys I'm stripping my engine bay at the moment in order to install a 1.8t engine. I'm trying to Idenify what this bit of kit is that is under the airbox and want to know if I need it once the 1.8t engine is fitted?
  24. Lol, at the moment mate i'm trying to get the damn thing running and if it doesn't work this weekend the bloody engine is coming OUT!!! and is going to be replaced with a VR6!!! plus I have some nice 310mm wilwood superlite 4 pot that i'm going to trial fit this weekend  . Why do you want a different colour valver?
