Hi, do you still have the passenger's side window motor and regulator? If so, how much including postage to SN4 7EU? Cheers
-
Hi guys. The passenger side window motor appears to have packed up on my '95 16v. Can you just replace the motor, or do you need to replace the regulator too? Cheers.

Cheers mate, will let you know for definite by the weekend. Going to see my mate tomorrow afternoon who will tell me whether or not he can salvage the bumper. May well be cheaper to have the part off you anyway, but can let you know by tomorrow evening! Iain -
Blimey, sorry to hear that mate. What's the mileage and general condition of the car like? If you look back in the thread you can see what reg and mileage mine is on (the bodywork isn't too shabby at all) so it should give you a fair idea of what sort of valuation you should be looking for!

Thought it may have been. Just checking the parts list on the repair bill I was given by my insurers, and they had quoted for new rear bumper and new rear panel, I just assumed the panel was the section with the Corrado name on it, but looks like that'll just have to be beaten out. Bumper looks in pretty good nick fella. Would be interested in postage though. Best price I've found so far is £56 delivered, so if you can do it cheaper than that then we may have a deal! -
Have you been on Dragons Den with this idea yet?

Am interested mate. Any chance of a few photos to show extent of chipping? Also, do you have the rear panel, located between the boot and bumper. I'm not the best when it comes to this sort of thing so I assume that it's a separate part... -

Hi, know I'm a bit late to the party, but any chance you have the rear bumper still? -
Yeah, sorted nice and quick which is good. Really not bothered about the Cat C marker on it as plan on keeping it a fair while longer! When did yours go into the garage then?
-
OK then, car is back home and is a Cat C write off. Valuation of the car was £1400 and have decided to buy the salvage for £150, which gives me more than enough to get the little probs sorted. Pretty happy with that decision to be honest!

does anyone have a corrado that doesnt break?

Had my valver for coming up to 2 years now and love it to pieces. Not much more I can add to what everyone else has said regards problems. Biggest issue I've had was replacing the cooling fan, so have been lucky, but e-bay is always a close friend. You're going to get problems on any car you buy, but I like to think a C is similar to what they say about an Alfa Romeo. It can be incredibly infuriating for a large period of time, but when everything comes together and works right, and you're on a nice twisty country road on a clear summer's day, you can't beat the feeling! -
Am in a quandry here then. Spoke to a mate of mine who works in insurance and he said it didn't sound too promising. Apparantly even though it is his fault, the insurance company wouldn't be bothered as the repair is still economically unviable. I would have loved to dealt directly with the third party's insurance, but as I type he: a) has trouble grasping the english language yet alone knowing who he is insured with (although Direct Line assure me he is insured) b) would Direct Line give me the details of his insurance company or would the Data Protection act prohibit that C)I have no eye witnesses, it's my word against his Direct Line have told me though that they are waiving my excess as it wasn't my fault, so that's something. Just need to wait on the decision...
-
Not sure that's the way the insurance companies see it. Yes, in an ideal world it should be as it wasn't my fault so his insurance company should pay out whatever the cost the repair comes to, but we all know that insurance companies are a pack of robbing *******s, no matter who you're with.
-
I hope so fella. My only worry for you is how quickly some of these companies are to turn around and say you need a brand new part. I most definitely want to keep hold. Will see what they say. If no go, I can get a 2nd hand bumper for around 50 quid, and I'll give it to a mate of mine who owns a spray shop and let him sort it. Where there's a will there's a way!
-
Just heard back from the repair centre, they've estimated the repair at 1700 quid, which includes 500 notes for a new rear bumper. I'd say that is the same as the car is worth. They need to get another engineer to have a look at it to make the big decision, and should hear back from them in the next couple of days. Not looking good...
-
Keep me updated on how yours is going fella. I should hear back from the repair company today to see what the score is. I was under the assumption that cost wouldn't have mattered because he went into me and last I heard from my insurance company, he's already admitted liability.....

Driving from Swindon up to my mates in Blackpool Friday afternoon, got to within 8 miles of his place and was shunted from behind at a roundabout. Car is driveable, but he's put a fair few dings and dents in the back bumper and the strip below the boot lid. The repair company who picked it up haven't filled me with confidence, one of the blokes saying that because of the rarity of Corrado's and the relatively high mileage (just ticked over to 127,000) that they may not repair it. Other than that, the car is mechanically sound. Anything like this happened to anyone else on here, if so, what did your insurance company do, and what are my options from here? It's only a valver, but I love that car to pieces and would be heartbroken to have to get rid...

Breaking 1995 Corrado VR6 - 117k, Full Black Leather
oldskooliain replied to Purple Tom's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hi Tom, sorry if it's already been asked, but do you still have the sunroof motor, and if so is it in good working order? Cheers! -
Green L- Reg VR6 parked in the Lansdowne Arms car park in Derry Hill, near Chippenham last night. Got a feeling I got a wave from you (Midnight blue 16v) as I left the car park but was too slow to react :(
-
Just been looking at 16" rims vr6south, but they appear to be quite rare, and I would be looking at 7-800 notes for them, which unfortunately I cannot afford :( . cheers for the advice mimjed, will look into that if I go for them. I am so incredibly tempted by them :D
-
I think it may be about time to finally lower my C and get some new alloys just to treat the old girl. Have seen them on a pearl blue Rado in my area, and seriously wondered how they'd look on my midnight blue one. Any comments/ alternative suggestions? Am looking at spending about £500. http://www.rimstyle.com/products/detail ... 0252512820

Over the last few weeks, my 2.0 16v has developed a problem. When the engine is cold, the starter motor will tick over, but you could be sat there trying for minutes at a time before the engine starts up. Once it has, and the engine is warm, it starts first time, every time. I have a feeling there may be a problem with one of the temperature sensors, but I was hoping one of you clever bunch may have any clues as to what may be the problem?
