  1. Tought of the day Why did I give up smoking last weekend? :mad2: Oh yeah! Fuel leaks on my C!!!! Stu Still not smoking and hating every moment of it!!!!
  2. Hi all yeah done the same thing with new clips and it's cured it. If theres only a small leak appearing whilst it's stationary then it should be just a sign that the filter retaining clips are insufficient. When the fuel is under pressure (low) in the pipe it aids the seal around the filter inlet and outlet pipes, once the pressure is reduced and the seal is slightly perished then you will get a small leak. If the seals totally go then you have problems as it would look something like Niagra Falls but with fuel spilling out every where as you hear the engine die as you glide into the side of the road :( Have had the same problem on a Passat and my C but cured them with a new filter and clips. Best of luck. Stu
  3. Nice one, I'll give it a try tonite and see what happens... cheers for that. Stu
  4. Hi all I've been trying different stuff as well recently. Upgraded all the bulbs (lamps) for clear white with LED sides and cleaned lenses. Been pretty good in the recent heavy rain but you can't help thinking they could still be better. Looking at changing to angels but can't help thinking 'BMW'!!!!! DOH!!!! Like the idea of replacing the wiring, wheres the best place to purchase them from? Also, getting really cheesed off with my driving lamps filling with condensation. All lenses ok with no cracks and replaced the back covers and checked seals..... Lights dry them out with the help of some newspaper covering them for a few minutes but just can't figure this one out????? Any suggestions? Parked up hill and down hill over night and showed no difference, reckon I got a Gremlin! Stu
  5. Afternoon, I tryed to purchase a milltek exhaust a few weeks ago but found out that they've gone bust! For a replacement I ended up with a Jamex which seems good, fitted spot on and sounds great (£322 from Venom). I've heard that most of the Milltek stock is either being grabbed up by other manufactorers or sold off cheap so with a bit of searching you should be able to get a deal. Don't know how you stand with the warrenty on it though? If you're anywhere near Milton Keynes I'm just about to start stripping a 94 VR6 if you wanna grab an old box for nothing.......
  6. Spent most of the afternoon and evening stripping every part of the central locking mechs and wiring. Repaired chaffed wiring and by-passed corroded o/s handle connector, tested all wiring and fuses and stripped handles and locks. Found that the o/s handle switch for locking (internal) had an intermittant fault. At one point when I reconnected it the locking wouldn't stop clicking on and off. Swapped over handles with the n/s and stripped. No problems to start with until I left it for half an hour and it unlocked all by it's self. Been fortunate enough to try my friends Corrado handles last night and left them on for an hour with no fault appearing. Fitting new handles asap now as soon as I can locate some (VAG want £142.73 inc vat for the pair and are on back order). Only other thing that has arisen is that now my boot only locks with the key!!!??? Think this thing is haunted! Best of luck with your central locking fault (if you havent already rectified it).
  7. Bloody Hell! Looks like I'm waiting in line for the answer to that as well. Had a fleet of vw's over the years but this is only me 2nd corrado and I've got exactly the same problem. Never had this problem before. Every other total closure I've had on other vw's has never played up. My problem has arisen since Friday when some donkey tried to pinch me motor and ended up trashing both handles and a drivers window. The autoglass guy totally buggered up the window fitment ( which has come off it's runner 3 times now) and the drivers door unlocks when it feels like it. The passengers door lock still activates the autoclosure but the other doesn't??? Got it in pieces right now and found chaffed wiring, repaired and checked fuses....still not working! Help! Getting voltage through wiring to locking system but still intermittant fault. Maybe a cup of tea and plenty of Nurofen down the oil filler might work!? p.s. Why do glass fitters use a whole tube of black sealant (tar) to stick everything back together? Cheers easy!
