  1. I have decided to get a set of rota force 17/8 but I am unsure on which size of tyre to go for,205 40 17 or 215 40 17, I am a little confused as rimstyle say the 205 but rare rims say they would only use 215  will be fitting some rainsport 2's after reading some great reviews, but any other recommendations would be good to.

    Thanks Dom

  2. Thats a pity they are a nice looking wheel,I do like the look of your rotas in gunmetal, just want to do something different, just had a look at some 17" oz ultraleggera's in black,I think they are light, what are they like for big brake set ups.

  3. True, rear just doesnt have enough weight IMO to go with massive brakes. Bigger brakes will also mean more mass for the suspension to cope with so take that into account as well. Saying that your running 18in wheels so you must not care too much for the ride of the car.

Had a set off 17's b4 the 18's and tbh the 18's are no different they are both bumpy but my car is set up so stiff even 15's may not be great,as for the suspension I think the koingsport coilovers should be fine.

  4. I have 18s  other than that do you need any other bits or do they just bolt on,just saw your last post ,so calipers good discs no good cool, out of interest how much did you pay for your 4 pots.Have seen a whole set up 6 pots 4 pots and dics £450

  5. Just wanted to know if the 6 pots and 350mm discs of a cayenne will fit on the corrado,I would imagine they are the same fitment as the 4 pots that some people are using,it would just be a case of getting them under the wheels? Also would the 4 pots and 300mm dics of the rear of the same cayenne fit on the back of the corrado.

  6. Thats what I did when I had the charger, its worth noting that the calipers you have for 288's will also take a 312's with different carriers.

Thats good to know,so are the 312s and the different carries come from a later spec mark 4 or a gti do they, just so I know what to look out for

  7. So a how would mark 4 golf brake set up get on with 300-350 ponys, she sure does stop on the button at the moment.

I had the 288 mk4 set up when mine had the V9 charger (300hp) and they were ok. Have you got 288's or 312's?

288's mate, was thinking of just uprating the disc's and the pads for now.

  8. Hi as above the fan switch has gone(only works on 1 and 4)have spoke to vw and they want £209 for a new one  and there none in the country.Does anyone know another way to fix this.

  9. i dont think any1 has any idea yet, but maybe after this weekend there might be more of an idea and also what sort of power the kit will produce

Don't forget this is a basic kit, would say about 300bhp.

From the rumour mill at the Stealth Dyno day yesterday, I picked up a fitted price of around £3K and it will be 350hp in stage 1 spec. Obviously that's not been officially confirmed yet, but that sounds like a great price for an extra 150hp to me!

If this is true, hello turbo

  10. Just getting back to the stealth turbo project, does anyone have a ball park figure of how much this will be,have tried to call stealth but no reply, even a ruff informed price will do,maybe I won't be buying that rotrex after all.

And just wanted to say top work stealth for getting a kit out there.

  11. need to move the scuttle cover back on the left hand side

then that reveals a 10mm nut which you need to undo then disconnect the wiring loom

then push the ecu towards the fan air intake to unclip it from the rest of the retaining clips then wiggle out its very tight (oohh er missus) :D

    hope this helps

    Thanks will have ago 2mora.

  12. too hot there TT seats mate.

    That they are

    Easy to fit?

That looks like Ransoms Euro park in Ipswich?

Not too sure, they were in the car when I got it,but I think the car has been owed by a few cf members so I am sure someone knows, and, yes it is.

  13. It could well be,I know that he is mostly into golfs,so sounds about right will let you know after I have had a chat with him. Thanks for the for the info on were to get kit,I have just sold the bike,so will be getting things together soon.

Do you have a number for simon?

  14. All this is making my head spin a bit to be honest,I am hopefully going to meet up with a guy who is doing a twin turbo vr6 at the mo,and has done a lot of other vrt's in the past to have a good old chat about all things holy(that being vrt's esp vrtt's :D :notworthy: )

So hopefully I will have a better understanding of what needs to be done and will get things underway.

It will be done in 6 months tick tock it's on baby!
