As i says I am after a late front grill due to some twat reversing into mine and smashing it.Hopefully close to birmingham! cheers Rob

ok are these these same as the ones fitted to a 92 if so I may have one for you.
-
if we find out how many we want doing between us I am more than willing to pop down and chat to the guy as he doesn't work far from me. Idealy he needs them for about a week to make sure the process has worked properly and adhered well.

has anyone ever removed the front slam panel from their corrado? ( looks like I am going to have to do some repair work to mine after some idiot in a disco reverse into mine pushing the metal lip back and up into the grill smashing that as well, then buggering off with out so much as leaving a name!).I am just trying to work out how long it will take to do roughly.

he doesn't supply new ones, what he does is resilver your originals if they are in good condition, his main trade is mgf reflectors as they have the same problem.
-
the easy way is to get the lens changed to uk one but means getting hold of a set of worn out uk lamps where the lens is fine, not sure if you can still get new lens's, the refelctor will be the same inside but if they are burn't/ damaged you will need to get them resilvered.( be careful how you touch them as its so easy to remove the silvering, use nothing but warm water and soap if they need cleaning)

mine does have the uprated wiring loom but they do need the reflector resilvering to improve them but then they will still be like candles in the wind,I am more worried about them cos the wife keeps stealing it to drive but she moans about the lighting at night and I am more worried about her putting it in a ditch. I am not sure but when I was in my early 20's I saw a corrado with a Irmscher ( not sure that is spelt right) grille which was similar and being a car that was designed in the 80's I thought a recatangular headlamp would suit it more, course the lights will still have a glass cover as per the original lamp to protect the lens'. I did look at using the twin circular headlamps from a ford capri mk3 but I don't think they will squeeze in at 5 3/4 inch diameter.
-
lol not a good idea then?
-
this is how my idea would look roughly....

yes I saw that one but wasn't quite convinced as to the looks, plus the lamps you got to cut up are still quite expensive to get hold of second hand. I did a little play using some 6x4 rectangular lamps using a graphics prog from a ford(spit) probe but note sure how it will look in real life. The only prob I think will I could have 4X dipped beams if I wanted to there should be more than enough light output.

OK has anyone actually converted their headlamps to another make of headlamp? I have heard of people using BMW headlamps but not seen any pictures of the conversion, I have also seen the halo/projector set up and to be honest not that keen on the looks of it. I was thinking of resilvering the old lamps but to be honest if they were originally as poor an output as I have heard I have thought up a cheaper conversion. What do you all think?

sounds like the same place, its in birmingham and he does a lot and I mean a lot of mg headlamps and a few hella lamps as well as it seems to be a common failure. I think for the cost of a new/second hand set its a better option as you got a 12 month guarrantee on the work

I am just thinking about having this done , has anyone else tried it? I have found a local company that will resilver both reflectors for @£70. I think it will be cheaper than buying a couple of second hand units and they will be done better that the original equipment!
