which corrado is better?? 1.8 16v or 2.0 16v? please state why thanks

got a friend who has a 16v carrado, on the top of the inlet manifold should be a pipe which connects! but there isnt one there, its just been blocked off for a reason we dont know, just wondering if it need to be put back on and where it connects to
