  1. It's gone back up again at £14,750 - kinda more like the figure I was expecting him to attempt!
  2. Yeah we knew it was a dealer, and that it would be back up for sale at some point. I thought he'd be trying £15k tops - can't imagine anyone wanting to part with nearly £19 (as nice as it was!) There other things around at that price that are probably even more special. I wanted an enthusiast to have it - and they could have. All the enthusiast on here knew about it - and could have bid on it if they wanted! But clearly a dealer saw it as a better proposition than anyone else.
  3. Well it's back up for sale !! Certainly trying to make a tidy profit. Gutting for whoever buys it if they ever realised they could have bought it for just over !0k a couple of months earlier! Can't honestly imagine he'll achieve this for it - I thought we'd struggle to get 10! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152204735823?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  4. Well it was a super smooth sale! Guy from Grimsby drove down this morning - had a look at it - started beaming from ear to ear, and transferred the money ! He is a dealer so it will be back up for sale at some point - but he was going to keep hold of it for a while - and was going to take it to the VW show in Leeds on the 14th Aug (I think)
  5. LOL - yeah it was the 4 door version as well !!!!! To be fair is is nice and bloody nippy. Not quite a 2.9 V6 though :-(
  6. No I've kept this quiet !! I'll tell you if I don't get flamed - as I had nothing to do with it. . . . . . A new Mini Cooper S !
  7. Nope - guy called Andy from Grimsby!! Spoken to him and so far so good!
  8. Hmm - looks like it's a dealer from Grimsby :-( Snuck in at the very last second. Shame - as a local guy came and looked at it the other night - and loved it. Really thought he was going to bid but obviously didn't! I'll let you know if it all goes smoothly - or they start ****ing us about!
  9. I messaged the guy, and after doing some research discovered he was a dealer. You can also restrict people from bidding !
  10. OK - no worries. Where are you based? You're welcome to come and have a look. Bring your one and we'll take some photo's of them together :-)
  11. Hi delfinis - I see you keep trying to raise this point. As mentioned, every year the car goes to VW for a service. They continuously advise that while the MOT station has to record the 'advisories' they are now where near bad enough to warrant replacement. If they were, they would have been sorted. Cheers Darren
  12. Well there has been another high bid - and I have been in communication with this bidder, so I know he's genuine. Didn't expect it to get this high quite so quickly - and yes the reserve has now been met, so the highest bidder will own the car. Hopefully if they are willing to spend that kind of money they are going to be a genuine enthusiast. EJ - if I find out they've ripped out the interior and installed a roll cage I'll go mental !!!
  13. I'm just trying to confirm if it's a genuine bid. The guys profile appears to be legit, but we'll wait and see. It had a high reserve price, so that if it did't sell we'd be able to cherry pick the best potential owner from the bids received. Would really like it to go to an enthusiast if it has to go somewhere.
  14. Stop saying stuff like this!! When (and if) it comes to it, I think I'll be crying like a baby!!
  15. It was just the back box that needed replacing I think (I would have to double check) - but as you said bloody VW just stopped making them! Anything that's needed to be done has been done - as it goes to VW in Camberley once a year for it's service. It's been garaged all of it's life so hasn't suffered from the elements (and rarely even go out if it's raining) - roof strips are perfect, and I think it's still on the original rear callipers (again I'd have to check with my Dad to be sure), and everything works just as it should. It could well be on show for VW. Perhaps I could contact them and see if they want it for a museum somewhere! I'm tempted to keep it. It's in my garage at the moment - and I keep telling the folks they've gone senile and they sold it ages ago and have just forgotten :-) I won't tell you what replaced it - otherwise you'll hunt them down and burn them at the stake !!
  16. No it's not :-( It needed a new back box a couple of years ago, the old man went to VW - and they couldn't provide one anymore - so amazingly Halfrauds stocked one for the VR6. If anyone knows where to buy an OEM one then let me know and we'd get it put on. It's the only thing on the car (apart from the battery!) that isn't original!
  17. Cheers man - it is pretty special. Considering what else I've seen advertised as 'immaculate' this is in a different league! The leather interior is like brand new! Perhaps I should point out that prospective buyers will have to be interviewed to make sure you're going to treat it in the way it's accustomed LOL !!
  18. Well 6 years later and the car is now for sale !! It's now amassed 44,135 miles - and I'm pleased to say in those 6 years, it's been perfectly reliable !! Have been advised that with something like this an auction is the best way to go - so it's up on eBay : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/142045298578? If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line! Cheers Darren
  19. ha ha I would love to - I love that V6 too! However I do too many miles - so it would soon loose it's 'low mileage' benefit. I'd have to use it as my day-to-day car - so I'm hoping we'll be able to find someone that would want to continue it's pampered lifestyle!!
  20. Hi Looking for some realistic advice for the value of my Mum's Corrado VR6. This is one of those rare events that should get enthusiasts all excited - as it's one of those cars that has been pampered all it's life and used as my Mum's fun car. Many years ago she fell in love with the Corrado and had a J reg G60 which was faultless, then moved onto a K reg VR6 which was stunning. Still wanting to keep a Corrado they splashed out on her current car which they purchased as an approved used VW from Sloane Square. The car is a metallic black 96 N reg Corrado VR6. It is NOT a Storm - though it is one of the last ones made (you can also tell this from the sunroof switch gear - which if you really know your Corrado's will know that they changed at the last minute to use the one from the mark III Golf - rather than the rocker switch that used to appear on the older cars! -as a car mad 18 year old at the time I was quite the Corrado nerd!!! ) The car is absolutely stunning - it has full black leather interior with heated front seats. My parents also had VW at Sloane Square retro fit the car with Air Con - at it was the one thing that Corrado's didn't come with that they really wanted. Well that was 13 years ago - and since then it has been my Mum's car - amassing an amazing 36,000 miles along with obligatory full Volkswagen service history. It's been fully garaged all it's life so as you can imagine it is in stunning condition - and not a hint of rust anywhere on the car. Everytime it's goes to VW to have it's yearly service all the mechanics start drooling over it!! However now my Mum is getting on a bit and I'm thinking it's time to sell the car and get something a bit newer for her. So basically I wanted to get some honest opinion at to what this car would actually be worth? I'm not saying it's for sale yet though - as talking about selling it and actually doing it might be to different things for my Mum! She still loves the noise and power of that V6!! Thanks for any help Darren
