Hi all hope some one can help out with this problem or point me in the right direction. I've had a search through the forum but can't find anything that sounds like the problem I’m getting. When cruising in 4th or 5th gear and I accelerate hard the engine over revs, then drops off and then picks up as normal. My first thought was that my clutch could be slipping but I've tried all of the usual test and its seems ok. It also does it in 2nd and 3rd but it is more of a pause, revs increase pauses then carries on going up. Thanks

Just a quick question. There were only 500 Storms made, 250 green and 250 blue. Were these Storms numbered in any way e.g. 140/500 ??

Wooo Hooo. All fixed, touch wood, I took it to a VW specialist garage near Haydock. It turned out to be the collar that sits around the ignition barrel that reads the chip in the key. All sorted for £25, very impressed with the garage, http://www.justvw.co.uk if anyone is looking for a good bunch of honest mechanics.

Thanks for the replies. Stormseeker thanks for the offer for use of your VAGCOM I’ll see if I can make it on Sunday, I’ll PM you if I can go. MonVR6 this sounds identical I hope it isn't the ISV at that price. Kevhaywire is your spare VR6 ISV new? How much would you want for it?, that’s if mine turns out to be faulty.

I've searched through the forum and I see a few people seem to have had this problem but no resolution posted that I can find I start the car, it turns over fine and then immediately cuts out. The first time this happened I had to call the AA out to it. He disconnected the battery and then re-connected it and it fired up. It was fine for a couple of months but now its happening almost every day! It starts beautifully first thing in the morning but when I come to start it to leave work about 8 hours later! it starts and cuts out. Unless it is restarted within about 2 or 3 mins of being stopped it won't go. After about 10-15 mins of trying it eventually goes. My C is very damp inside so I’m wondering if that is something to do with it. Plus my fuel pump is quite noisy so could it be that is on its way out, but it is fine idling, cruising and acceleration. Can anyone suggest what this could be? Any hints and tips are welcome.

Corrado spotting - December 2003
Republic Of Mancunia replied to HiAsAKite's topic in General Car Chat
Saw 3 on Saturday in and around Manchester (well Old Trafford) 1. Red G60 think it had an E plate (could be one I spotted before) Going past the gas towers towards Partington 2. Maroon VR6 going over the bridge into the west car park of old Trafford 3. Dark blue VR6 N*** DUA around Trafford business park Anyone here? I wasn’t in my Storm so you wouldn’t have spotted me. -
I also have the same problem m8, if you discover the problem let me know, I’ll be getting hosed down at the weekend so if I discover where mine is coming from I’ll let u know.

Hey that could of been me mate! I live in stretford and sometimes drive up to Lymm on the off chance of seeing a clear stetch of road that I can blast along on! And yes I did get stuck behind a few cars! Whereabouts do you live, and what do you drive?[/quote:a4911] Im just outside Lymm, near jtc 10 of the M56. I've got a Blue VR6 Storm! -
Hello again! I believe this is a common problem with corrados, that the head lights are very dim! I've bought some new bulbs (up to 60% brighter it says on the packet!) which I shall be fitting tomorrow. Can anyone else suggest something I can do? I've noticed that the inside of the glass seems to be quite dirty, is it wise to break the seal and remove the glass to give em a clean?

I'm 21, 22 end of March. My first car at 17 was a 72 GT beetle (Still lurking in the garage) then a MK3 Golf (no power steering and a terrible oil leak, smelt like smoky bacon crisps when the oil burnt off on the manifold) Then a 2001 Polo I loose track what MK they are think its a MK4, still have that as well. Bought my C just over 2 weeks ago and not got rid of the polo yet. I fear its going to be the end for my Bug as well, as with the C's almost junkie like addiction to petrol I’m never gonna save up to sort the beetle. So anyone want a 72 GT beetle in Red? Apparently less that 100 left!

Spotted my first C since buying mine just over 2 weeks ago. On the way to Old Trafford yesterday. Nice K reg G60 red, in Lymm, looked like he'd got stuck behind a granny up a national speed limit road. -
I joined a couple of days ago, I just thought I'd make myself known and say Hi. I've just bought my Corrado, first one, and it’s a VR6 Storm! eeek! I remember going around garages with my brother when I was only 12-13 and seeing Corrado’s, vowing one day to own one! and now I do. I’m only 21 so the insurance is costing me the earth, but not as much as the petrol. I've had the car 2 weeks and I've already put about £150 of petrol in it! Any one know any petrol saving tips??? apart from not driving my beast! One thing I've noticed is that some Storms have the VW logo in the wheel centre cap, others (and mine) have BBS centre cap. Anyone know which is correct? J
