  2. Hey guys an gals, So I'm on my way to work the other morning, and my C dies. I was following my father into work, so he turned around and picked me up. So when I got home, I went back to my car with one of those car-jumping packs. Hooked it up and it fired right up. Got about a half mile down the road and it died on me. So I jumped it again. This time it died after about 50 feet. So I jumped it again. I got to the begining of my driveway, and it died again. This time I tried to jump it, but the pack was too low on charge I suspect and I couldn't get enough of a charge to keep the car running, so I pushed it down my driveway. On my next day off I went and had the battery tested, it was a little low so I recharged it. Then I took off the alternator and had it tested, and it tested out fine. One of the workers where I had the alternator tested said to replace the belt. It sounded right since my old belt looked old and dry-rotted. I also noticed that my GLader really needs a rebuild, there was oil evident in the air tube connected to the airbox and Glader and also crusted oil on the GLader itself. So I haven't put the battery and alternator back in with the new belt yet. Would a bad charger be hindering my car from producing the right amount of charge? Could I be looking at possibly something more then just a bad belt? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as now I am in the market for another car. I refuse to get rid of my corrado, I have too much love for it. But I need to fix it.
  3. Ok, so after some research on some corrado sites, I've come to find out that there are bolts on the firewall behind the engine that are holding in the heater assembly ( which the manual shows nothing about ). Anyone know how many are holding in the heater assembly which the core sits in? I can see two, one in the middle of the firewall towards the top, and another which sits about a foot below from the top one. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Ok, So I've completely dissassebled the dasboard. Now I've run into another problem. I can't get the heater assembly, that the heater core sits in, out. It won't budge. I can't seem to find any screws or bolts that is holding it place, and the manual dosen't give any info on how it comes loose. Do I need to simply undo the retaining clips that attaches it to the section of the blower fan? The entire section just will not budge an inch, and I am at my wits end. Please help!
  5. Hey guys, Well on my way to pick up my paycheck today, my heater core finally went. What a mess. So the corrado is in the garage and I've started the evil task of taking apart the instrument panel. I've taken out the middle console, the knee bars, the steering wheel, etc. But I've run into a slump. I'm reading the Bentley manual, and it says there are two hex bolts left holding the entire instrument panel on. Only problem is I have no idea where it is that the manual is referring to. It says they're under the plenum panel. WTF is that? Where can I find these last two bolts so that I might finish the project today? Anyone who can help, please lend me your experience.
  6. Those lights pictured are what we buy in the US as Euro style lights. Those are not the stock headlights pictured.
  7. it has plugs comming out from the corrado, but he sony head has no where to plug them into. The deck has WIRES that i need to connect to the existing wires of the car. I just need to know what color wire supplies the constant power, the ignition power, antenna, etc etc..
  8. ...sniff looks like goodbye g60 badges
  9. I'm driving home yesterday, and the oil light starts blinking and a horrible beeping sound starts going off. This seemed totally off to me, since i had just checked the oil the day before while i was fueling up. So, i pulled off the highway and checked the oil. As I suspected the oil was dead on, not low at all. So, i started the car back up, and no oil warning. I pulled out the parking lot and it happend again! But this time it stopped after about 3 seconds, and did not happen again so far. Anyone have this type of problem before?
  10. Hello everyone, Trying to install my new Sony CDX-M3DI head unit, and was wondering if anyone had some info on the wiring. The adapter i bought for it, just dosen't match up the wires correctly. The corrado is listed on the package, but things just don't line up ( to me anyways). For instance, the speaker wire connecter is a hair too big for the adapter, and the connector which has all the power, ground, etc. just dosen't seem to line up properly. So...i want to just hard wire the deck in. Would be nice to know which wires connect to where. Thanks
  11. Yeah I was checking out the Bahnbrenner site. It says i'm going to need: a 16V Secondary shaft and gears complete What exactly are they talking about. Sorry but I'm new to some of this. My main concern was if the head would bolt right on or not, but the g-man answered that for me.
  12. Hi, I'm looking at converting my 8v G60 over to 16v. I found a head from a jetta that's 1.8 16v, came outta a GLS i believe. I'm just checking to see if this head will bolt onto my G60's block. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  13. Thanks for the help. I am going to try replacing the radio tomorrow. Hopefully this will work.
