  1. If you use LEDs the reverse lights shine white with a very slight tint, hardly noticeable. Same with the indicators, use LEDs and they bring out more of the orange from the original unit than the red tint.
  2. I've worked out the problem with my original sunroof, this arm sits too high and stops the roof sliding back The o-ring at the back of it has worn and has a flat spot, the other side works fine. You can see the two sides below This is the side that sits a fraction too high And this side is fine Tried to find a suitable sized o-ring to replace it but couldn't find anything, I'll try Volkswagen during the week
  3. Sorry for double posts, bloody phone messing about. Got the Mk3 roof working :) Got a few pictures that might help people The difference in profiles between the Mk3 and Corrado The mechs/guides are identical, mounting holes, drain tubes, etc. The only difference is the part that moves the inner roof cover Mk3 on the right Corrado on the left
  4. Bloody golf one tilts but won't slide :(
  5. Bloody golf one tilts but won't slide :(
  6. Right, I finally got the sunroof out of the corrado and got a mk3 golf one. (I've got a few pics to post but I'm on my mobile at the minute). The golf glass is a totally different profile, not a problem as I wanted to keep the corrado metal one. The only problem is the inside cover, the golf one is independent where as the corrado one moves woth the roof. The only way to use the original cover is to swap the mechs over, which surely defeats the object? Think I might have to run the metal roof with the golf inside cover, unless I'm missing something?
  7. Cool, cheers Ian. I've found a Golf one for sale locally so I'll give it a go.
  8. Would the golf mech work with the original corrado steel sunroof?
  9. Cheers mate, that's one problem solved, thank you
  10. Please go gentle if these are stupid questions, I'm normally playing with air-cooleds not these technical water pumpers! The battery died on my VR last week, (I'm assuming it was a mix of not being used regularly for a year or so, then trouble starting followed by a big freeze). Fitted a new one today, the alarm started screaming as soon as I connected the positive, key fob is a bit pants but managed to get it to shut up. Tried starting her and she fires then dies, did a google search and found a couple of threads about it being the alarm/immobiliser/transponder thingy, but can't find out what it looks like or where it is (need to know where to squirt the WD40). Any ideas please? Also I notice a part swinging in the wind when I was changing the battery, it's in the picture with the Audi symbol on it. Any ideas where it should be or what it is please? ---------- Post added at 5:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:19 PM ----------
  11. Wheels are already gone, eBay is a godsend. Got some 15" Mk4 Golf steelies now, ill post some pics up later. But also have major power drain now, battery totally dead within five days.
  12. Yeah, the colour sold it to me. Needs a bloody good bath and polish though. Once she's got a ticket I'll go to town getting her looking a bit more pristine
  13. Cheers, guys. Sorry, my computer was messing about yesterday, that blue one I had for about a month, this is the present one.
  14. I've just bought my second Corrado, although I only kept the first one for a month, it was my daily and the running costs of the VR6 scared the life out of me. I was primarily an air cooled driver, but the cost of them is getting ridiculous so more of my toys are of the water cooled variety. ---------- Post added at 5:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:26 PM ---------- Hmmm, this was supposed to be one post but my PC is messing about. My first Corrado, swapped it for my Karmann Ghia and ended up trading it in for a diesel New Beetle
