I was thinking a blocked line as well. Any suggestions of trying to clean it out? I was thinking about shooting compressed air through it

Hey guys, Im back again. About a month ago I posted on this forum about my 1990 G60 not starting. I figured out that the fuel pump was fried. I replaced the original pump with the newer VDO model and the car was running. About a week later I wanted to warm up the car and change the fluids and it is back to cranking with no starting :0 I pulled the fuel line from the top of the injector rail and there was barely any fuel coming out while cranking. I replaced the fuel filter and I am having the same problem, barely any fuel from the line into the top of the injector rail. What could by my problem? The pump does prime and shoots out fuel from the top of the pump when disconnected from the line so I know the pump is atleast pushing out fuel. Help please!!!

installed the VDO fuel housing but I couldnt find a way to put the fuel float in the tank so I disconnected it completely. Car fired up with no problems

Hey guys, I recently ordered a new fuel pump and housing for a 1990 G60. The pump I received looks like the one in this picture: http://www.corradoparts.com/Fuel-Complete_Fuel_Pump_Complete_w_sending_unit_5.html The problem is that the pump which I removed from my car is different. The large housing around the fuel pump is completely round and has the float attached to it. The housing I received is about 3/4 round with the float attached to the top cover. Will this still work in my car? Please help, I took the day off to do the install and like an idiot diddnt inspect the pump until just now. Thanks, Steve ---------- Post added at 04:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ---------- Ok I figured a few things out. 1. I had the old Pierburg fuel pump which VW changed out because of its problems. 2. The pump which I received is the new VDO pump. Here is the issue now. The original pump had the fuel float attached to the actual housing which sits around the pump. The new VDO pump has the fuel float attached to the top cover which sits above the fuel pump housing. Is this think going to work?

Another thing you can do is remove the baffle on the end of the supercharger and look for signs of foul play (oil, metal shavings ECT)

Which one is the fuel pump relay?
-
Ok here is a pic of the begining of the fuse box. You have to look carefully because it is hard to see. You will see a fuse infront of #31 relay, a fuse infront of #90. Just to the left of #90 is an empty fuse socket. Any ideas?
-
there is a cluster of relays, and then a row of fuses in the back. This is NOT the fuses I am speaking of. The empty fuse is on the front of the box, completely opposite of the row of fuses. Any idea what these fuses do or what amperage they are? I do not have an instruction manual

Should there be any empty fuse holders in the G60? This will be hard to explain. When I go under the dash there are 3 fuses which are before any of the relays. They are closest to the driver if he were sitting in the car. 1 of them is empty. I have no idea what it is for or if it should be empty. Any thoughts on what its for, the amperage of the fuse ECT would be a big help. Thanks

Thanks so much for the fast replies so far. Really glad I read this forum. Tomorrow I will grab a new FP relay and give it a shot. My G-ladder was also loosing oil through its seals before I garaged the car. I dont have the money to replace that any time soon but I read somewhere that I could use a different serpentine belt and just bypass the supercharger for now. If thats still the case that is what I will do.

Pretty sure there was fuel left in the car. And no I am not hearing the pump prime. Is there another relay in the box that I can swap to test the pump? Can you give me an idea what the best way to get inside the fuel tank? Thats one thing I havent done yet. Thanks

Hello everyone. New to these forums but glad I found them. I just got out of the military and want to drive my 1990 G60 again. It has been garage kept for the last 10 years. I went to try to start it and the engine turned over fine but would not start. I pulled the fuel line to the injector rail and had my wife turn over the motor and noticed I am getting no gas. I vaguely remember hearing the fuel pump making noise when I turn the key but it is not doing that now. Should I be hearing the fuel pump when I turn the key to run? I believe I have one of three problems but am hoping you guys at this forum can point me in the right direction. 1. Fuel pump relay is bad? If so is there one I can swap to try? 2. Fuel pump is bad? 3. Something is blocked from the tank to the injector rail? Please help me out. I will post some pics on the site when I get a chance also.
