Hi, not long joined the forum. Have taken a few more pics today - today was THE SUMMER up here in Scotland, so took the chance to give her a good wash and clean up inside. SHe's off the road just now, on a SORN. Have only done a service so far. In the process of replacing the brake discs and pads (standard). Don't think I'm going to do too much to her, I kind of like it OEM! Only thing I really don't like are the wheels, so will change them at some point. Anyway, hope you like!! Davie

Thanks guys, I just presumed they were essential!! I'll get back on it tomorrow then! Good idea about the citric acid, I'll give that a bash as well.

So, I decided to change the discs and pads on my 2.0l 16v. The retaining screw that holds the disc to the hub is missing its head and is very probably siezed in place. Didn't bother checking the nearside probably the same. I'm presuming it'll have to be drilled out, but have never done this before. BY the looks of the screw it will probably be a common problem, what has anyone else done in the past? Any help greatly appreciated! Also, the calipers are quite rusty, any good ideas for cleaning them up? Cheers, Davie

Hi, I would take the back box if it's still available? Cheers, Lod -
Hi Neal, sorry I haven't got back to you sooner, I'll take the springs and both sets of dampers. Could you courier them to me? I'll PM you about details. Also, I may be interested in the Brands Hatch wheels, the ones on my car are crap! Any pics? Presume they're 5 stud, in which case I'd need to convert!!

I got one of those, a friend bought it for me. Only about £4 I think, it's quite good. Loads of stuff and for an American car as Jim says.
-
Have you still got the exhaust? May have missed it in the last 10 pages or so!
-
Thanks Tom, sold!! More overtime required! See you've got the best colour too!!?

Have always liked Borbet A's, don't think I've seen them on a Rado?! Tho, looking on the site here, there's so many variations............. endless possibilities!

Hopefully these pics turn out ok. Only 2 so far and both from the phone. Will get more on as it progresses!! Needs a good service - doing it this week, new wheels - hate them, good clean and wax. It's very lumpy at idle so going to replace plugs, distributer cap and leads, hopefully do the trick. Also, funny noise from under the drivers side when idling and driving, like a rumble?? Will keep posting as I get it tidied up!

Thanks guys, I live in Kilwinning. I've got a few photos, just need to get them on here. Will do so soon.

Hi folks, just bought myself a fairly mint 2.0l 16v from my mate last week - eventually managed to persuade him to part with it!! in need of some tlc as has been SORN for about 18mths. Still starts first time, although a bit lumpy, and runs ok. Bodywork is ok, some dings and spots of rust, but well worth it. Wanted one since "I were a lad"! Be on here quite a lot as I want to get it done up to be a summer daily driver. Love the site, loads of good stuff on it. Cheers, Lod
