    G60 woes :-(

its a vw design issue, but if all your marks line up then your ok,the bolts loosens allowing the pulley to move slightly which in turn wears the crank and the pulley notch

    G60 woes :-(

sounds like the classic g60 crank pulley notch failing to me,mine had the same symptoms and finally gave up and wouldnt start, you need to check the timing marks all line up
  3. ok let me get this right, the car ran fine before now has no compression after the timing belt has been changed? somehow you have bent a valve in every cylinder there is no other answer to this unless your tool isnt sealing right in the head, head off im afraid
  4. sounds like your crank pulley has worn its notch,it happens to all of them eventually
  5. you just have that one Neil ill get another if i need it
  6. brilliant thanks guys, the cars now in the bodyshop for a week so will need to wait to check this relay,im assuming this x relay is relay 4??,cheers boost monkey ill get in touch if its the relay i need
  7. Hi guys, driving home last night the wipers, blower fan and rear window demister all stopped at the same time!,stayed that way untill i got home, tried it this morning all working again, well confused by this and only thing i can think off is the ignition switch? anyone had this or can come up with an answer
  8. hi guys,my rev counter is faulty and it seems to be the instrument or board thats at fault, anyone know if it has to be a g60 dash or will any 4 cylinder dash work?
  9. i cant go either but hopefully they will arrange another meet soon
  10. ok im in killie we will need to bump into one another some time!i also have a g60.are you going to the doune meet?
  11. typical! only sunday i cant make as in newcastle for great north run,pm me please if you are arranging another meet
  12. hi bmcc where are you in ayrshire?
  13. have you checked the crank pulley timing marks as that is the exact symptoms i had and the pulley was really worn throwing the timing out
  14. ok only the 2 wires then thats what i have,so looking for a fault at the clocks or the rev counter itself, regarding the vacuum hoses i still have the 2 at the back of the body top one to ecu as you state other one comes round to the front of the intake manifold, and its a bigger one from the bottom thats blanked with a bolt,so thats the one for the canister? thanks for your help
