cheers bud, yea getting rid, not really suitable for my driving
-
feel for you mate, at least it was spotted and not left to spread, anybody know what would have caused this? and how to prevent it?
-
ok, had the switch out and all is fine with that. still dead up front . is there a relay that would cause this ????????? ---------- Post added at 11:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 AM ---------- right.... managed to get all the original lights working :) so im guessing the hids failed, pretty annoying as they are ment to be 1-2 months old
-
thanks.. i was thinking along those lines, only issue was that when the hids failed all the oem sidelights, foglights etc still worked, by checking the fuses and starting the car again i had nothing at all, thing is the sidelights and hid's aint connected and run seperate as normal with a car with hids. so is there an actual relay for the front lights? if so were is it located. will check the back of the switch tomorow for the earth wire
-
thanks will check that out, i figured the switch was ok as the green light on the switch still illuminates.... although im new to the cars so dont know if that means anything or not?
-
i posted this on friday, dont know if any1 seen it, anyway i have no lights working on the front of the car... rears work fine, any ideas? all fuses are fine, is there a relay that could cause this? started off with the hid's failing then total darkness up front

apologies, as mentioned i know zero about VW, its a 1.8 16v (1990) , if it helps it has recently had these jobs done (i know some are irrelevant but just copied and pasted) New Head Gasket New Distributor New Spark Plugs New Rotor Cap New Rotor Arm New Water Pump New Heater Matrix New Timing Belt New Clutch New Head Bolts New Front Brakes New Rear Brakes New Rear Brake Flexi's New Tyres New Speedo Sensor (for rear spoiler)

possibly a silly question but i know zero about the cars, twice my car has started a little lumpy... almost as if on 3 cylinders.. first port of call was the plug leads, noticed that when they are in place they are all solid apart from 1 which is floppy, is this normal? i doubht it is but thought id ask before i order stuff
