  1. Well have decided to change the engine loom as surely got to be better as then all the wiring will match..
  2. Ok well progress is a little slower than hoped but now have both engines out ready for the swap, noticed the wiring for the plug on the throttle body is different is there an easy way round this or do I need to change the engine loom as well? Cheers
  3. Picked up the donor car this morning all seems good and I should be able to break the rest to make the engine/box free...
  4. Oh ok, was having a google and did see it mentioned as I can't be arsed to mess with too much wiring just want to get it running to use it, so will go with that cheers!
  5. Hi all I am just in the process of removing the engine from my 94 Vr due to it being knackered, I have just bought a complete 1997 Golf Vr and was going to transplant everything across, both engines are coilpack type, just wondered if there is anything I need to be aware of as have heard a few things about obd1 and 2 but not sure if this will affect me as both are coilpack is that corroect? Thanks in advance..
  6. Ok will do, will update soon when I get a chance to strip the engine..
  7. Well, I am a car trader/mechanic and have always loved the corrado so picked up a cheap Vr6 from eBay last year to use myself, only had it for a few days and it developed a knock inside the engine and due to other commitments it has just been stood since November, I have now moved into a new unit where I have ramps and more space etc so now is the time to get back on with it. I may well strip the engine down to see what I can see but failing that will just do a complete swap for a golf running gear with obd2. I have done engine swaps/complete re-shells but only on Mx5s as that is what I specialise in so an engine swap should hopefully not be too bad on one of these as I have all/most the equipment to hand. So if I do want to do the swap all I need is an ebd2 golf vr6 and its all there???
  8. Hi All Not been on the forum for a while as I was going to break my vr6 corrado due to an engine fault, but was busy with other things and have not got round to it, but today have decided I am going to take it on as a project, more to the point I need to replace the engine and with a little research I think the way to go is put an obd2 golf engine in, so is it a pretty straightforward swap? Would it be the complete wiring/gearbox etc? Mine is a coilpack vr6 if that makes a difference? Thanks in advance.
  9. I'm sure its a coilpack but will need to double check
  10. Is it a straightforward swap over or are there things I need to know first?
  11. I am more swayed towards a complete car I think as I may need other bits and at least I can run the engine in the car for a bit so I am sure it is a good one. Is it a pretty straight forward engine swap???
  12. There is a knock somewhere in the guts of the engine which i am guessing is big end so think it will be easier just to swap an engine over so have all ancillaries already, but another idea was to get a complete car and try recoup the money spent by breaking the rest of it. I am near Bicester Oxon.
  13. Had a look but couldnt see it? Am I being hopeful trying to get a good engine for £150-£200?
  14. As in title please and also as cheap as possible.
  15. Think I will stick with originals just need to find a passenger side one at a sensible price
  16. Is it not a fuel feed problem? Crank Sensor as suggested sounds a good bet
  17. Anybody got any of these? just wondering if they look any good or not? If not are there alternatives? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Volkswagen-Corrado-Black-Halo-Projector-Headlights-/140635154223?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20be82272f
  18. Looking for a stainless cat back system for my vr6, fancy something quite loud.
  19. Hi all Just got my first Corrado its a VR6 in Aqua Blue, I won it on eBay for £980 so did not expect too much but pleasantly suprised at the moment. It has only covered 102k miles and has history. It had been off the road from 2006 until early this year when it was Moted and only covered 100 miles since then. There are a few bits and pieces I need to do but nothing too serious yet!
