Window Rollers - on hiatus due to c*ck up
Big_Al replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Been posting on another thread but thanks to a pointer, found this one. Are these rollers still available ? Really do need to shut the rattling up so it would be awesome. I need 4 rollers, assuming that will be 2 sets ? Please let me know as soon as you are able :) Cheers. Al. -
So am I right in asuming that these little wheels are no longer available new? Scratch that, just found the post where these things may be available :) Thanks guys :)

Hey guys. Been enjoying my first Corrado for a while now, but something has been bugging me. The Windows in the doors constantly rattle. Open, closed, makes no difference, so today, with the sun out finally I decided to be brave and take a look behind the door card. I found a lot of gaffer tape all over one side of the scissor mech and found a little white wheel in the bottom of the door. I can see one attached to the window mech so I am assuming it came off of where all the gaffer tape is. The other wheel feels a little loose. I have only taken the drivers door apart, but I would guess the passenger door has the same problem. Is this repairable, do I need to order new scissor mech's or can these little wheels be replaced? Cheers. Al.

Hey, I am after a replacement plastic peice on my passenger door. Its that silly little triangleat the front of the door, just behind the mirror on the outside. Do you still have this ? Let me know with price and paypal odds and sods if you have :) Cheers Al. -
Hey guys, Thought it was time to get some photo's up of my new baby. Sorry it has taken so long, bad weather and working got in the way :) Just washed and polished the old girl ready for her first shoot :) So, here she is. my 93plate 2.0L 16v. She has just passed 110k, 4 owners. Paint is in good order other than the standard car park battle scars down the drivers door, stone chips and so on. Rust only around the number plate light area and the right hand front wing just behind the mud guard. I am hoping to be able to get her resprayed in the next year but we shall have to see :)

Rather late on from the original posting, but, finally got the car into C and R. Turns out your thoughts were right dave. After my mate had a look, he thought there was something wrong with the little microswitch in the throttle body. Steve at C and R today confirmed this to be the case. The idle controller wasnt even being switched on which was what was causing the issues. One second hand replacement switch later and a quick tune up and the car is purring. Thanks for the input, really helped :) Cheers Al.

Ok, so after a long day of fiddling this is what we found out..... The throttle body was rather dirty, this has been cleaned. The idle microswitch diddleflop was slightly loose so it was adjusted and secured. When a volt meter was used on the connections we found that when the throttle was in idle the meter still showed 12v going through it. Sometimes after a rev of the engine it showed something like .1 Looks like its not registering correctly what the throttle is doing. Not sure if this is the case obviously because I have the mechanical skills of a haddock. :) We checked all the hoses and pipes for splitting and made sure all the clips holding everything together were tight and then sprayed all the joints with carb cleaner to see if anything was being sucked in, everything appears secure as no rev increase was seen. The car now drives a little smoother thanks to the cleaning, but still idles very lumpy...... I have had to relent and book it in with C and R next week for a check over, hopefully they can see whats wrong. Thanks for the advise though, was actually fun looking at bits of the engine I have never seen properly before and learning what they do and so on :) Will update if and when I know more. Oh, one thing we did notice was that there is a blue plug on the front of the engine, guessing a temp sensor of some description, that wasnt secured properly. But, plugged in or not, the car didnt seem to respond to it. Any ideas and could this be a part of the problem? Cheers. Al.

Sorry for not replying sooner. I have passed on the information you have given me here to my friend who knows more about this sort of thing than I do. We are looking at her today and hopefully will find something. I have noticed that the car seems to work better once she has been used for a while and then switched off for say 10/20 mins. All the idle issues seem to disappear then...... If I get no joy today I think I will be calling C and R, get her in for a diagnostic and see where we go from there. Will post if anything improves later today. Cheers. Al.

Hey guys, I am looking for a little help with my new baby. When I go my 16v Corrado off my mate, he told me that the idle valve doohicky was a little dodgy and would need replacing. Sure enough it would idle very low, ocassionally stall completely when stopped at a junction as well as over revving on idle. I have replaced the part and the car now drives much much better. Gear changes are smoother as the revs don't drop as violently, she doesn't stall now at junctions and so on. However, she does still idle very low after being driven for a while or if I blip the throttle after first start in the morning. The rev needle no longer bounces around like an idiot, she just idles really low, then after a few minutes she will correct herself and be running fine. As I am no mechanic, I have no idea what else to look for. Another friend has recommended blowing the engine through with some redex injector cleaner just incase there is something slightly blocked maybe..... Any advice would be very welcome. Cheers Al.

Have to admit to parking it across from my house the first day and I just kinda stood inside looking at her. And yeah, parked it up in various different places and couldnt/cant help myself looking back at her. It's also going to take little time to get used to people just staring at the car in the street as it goes by. :)

Ok, got the car saturday and if I am honest, not stopped smiling since :) Tis an amazing machine. Will post a pic or 2 when I get time from work/weather is good/not driving it :)

Hey guys :) I only tend to see em in the summer and even then they are very few and far between. :)

Just a quick question, can new switches be bought from anywhere ? I am already getting the relevent parts to put the inline fuse on the wire, but just thought I might as well replace the switch too.

Hey guys, I thought as I am reading your fine forum alot at the mo, I should intoduce myself. Names Allan from Nottingham. I am about to take delivery of my first ever Corrado. Shes the 2.0 16v model on a K plate. I have loved these cars from the first time I saw one as a wee young 'un and now find myself, thanks to a great friend, in a position to own one. (he is selling as he has just bought a gorgeous Storm!) I will most likely be bugging people lots on here for advice (along with me mate ofc) as I want to keep the old girl going for as long as I can :smug: Cheers all in advance. Allan.
