  1. I have opened a real can of worms here but I do need the clutch doing as it is on the floor and sometimes difficult to select the gear without doubling the clutch but as for timing chain I think I will get them to inspect and hopefully be honest with me, I must say the guy who referred to warming the motor up first I always do and have done for the last 15000 miles it never sees 3500rpm till the mfa tells me its into the 80'c cheers anyway
  2. I am sure I have read on here that the timing chain on a VR6 should be changed at about 100000 miles , so I went down to me local VW specialist (non dealership) and he quoted me £895 for chainand clutch which is on its way out, in shock I decided to ring the main dealer to see what they chargein the hope it would seem like I was getting a bargain , only to be told that there is no specified interval for timing chain replacement it only becomes a problem if it can be heard rattling, now I was airing on the side of cation by replacing the chain as I have only got 90000 on clock but as clutch needs sorting I thought 2 birds with one stone. now though I am confused I know I need a clutch but if I can get just that done obviously I may still be married next week advice will be gratefully appreciated here cheers

  18. driving home from work last thursday and when just pulling away from a juction the steering column coupling fell off leaving me in a ditch, on inspection the next day I tried to re fit it only to fing out that its the wrong one , ity was a short one from the earlier C's , instead of it being fixed on by about 20mm with the bolt through it was held on by about 4mm and no bolt !!!!! now I have driven this car about 6000 miles since I bought it so how lucky was I that it fell of at about 15mph , but more to the point what twat fits the wrong part like that to something as important as the steering wheel :x needless to say I am now sadled with a £204 bill from the VAG dealer as there is no patent part :x

    Book Value

I choose to ignore book prices I when I buy a car know what I can afford , and I know what I want the hard work is finding it after three months of searching trader VWmotoring and the internet I found mine Corrado VR6 71000 miles full history, receipteven tax discs , totally stock with the leather, one owner serviced soon after I bought it at VW dealership and they couldn't fault it except the handle to tip the drivers seat was broken and cost me £2.39.Bought for £5900 and I have to say I am chuffed to bits its the tits of a car, but I did have a round trip of over 240miles to collect it which I didn't mind because it gave me 120miles to play on the way home 8)
  20. my opinion I had a G60 in 94 low milage nice car I now have a mint VR full history the works and I personally prefer the VR plus In my opinion it will hold its value as has been said earlier the Vr is seen as the one to have
