Hi I was trying to replace the oil cooler on my VR6 yesterday and in removing the hoses that run from the cooler to trhe engine block and plattic feed pipe, i managed to snap the tube clean off the little stub outlet that is an integral part of the large plastic tube that runs across the engine from the water pump to the thermostat housing. Doues anyone know once the thermostat block housing is removed from the engine how the large plastic pipe is removed from the water pump?? :x

I have had a mate chuck it onto the VAG machine and it comes up with fault code 00276, which apparently is a left rear abs outlet valve. I guess this indicates a possible problem withthe ABS modulator

Do you know if this is a replaceable part or would it be a complete new alternator assembly :D

I have noticed over the lkast week that when my VR6 returns to the tick over the lights dim significantly untill the engine is reved again. When i got to work today i could hear the battery fizzing and it looked as though acid had escaped and sprayed over some of the engine parts. Can anyone help! Is my problem stemming from the alternator overcharging the battery?

Can anyone out there give me advice on how difficult it is to replace both the master and slave cylinders on the clutch unit of a VR6 :?:

The ABS light on my VR^ keeps coming on. A mate of mine hooked it up to the VW machine and it showed a fault code. The code is 00276 and says Left Rear ABS outlet valve. Does anyone know how this can be fixed or is it a complete replacement unit that will be needed :?:

The clutch on my corrado vr6 sometimes sticks and does not come fully back up. The biting point is very low to the floor. This is sometimes made better by pumping the pedal slightly. My ABS light comes on as well for no explained reason. Usually goes out again once the ignition is turned off and on again. Fluid levels are all ok with no apparent leaks. Can anyone help :?:

Cheers for the reply. Are they easy parts to get to? Someone told me that one of these parts is plastic and is notorious for failing. Is this the thermostat housing or the pump housing

My 1994 VR6 has been loosing coolant from the header tank over the last 3 weeks. The header tank would run dry after about 500 miles. there is no water in the oil and visible signs of water leaking in the engine bay. Have checked pump and hoses and all are ok. I jacked the car up on the drivers side this morning so that it was leaning at about 30 degrees and ran the engine up. At full temperature a small jet of water was visible from under the coil pack. can anyone help with what this could be?

Have you got the contact details for GPC?

Wow thats a first a dealer being cheaper than the aftermarket places. Some one told me that they were in the region of £120. Do you know if this is right? Seems extremely expensive to me
-
Can anyone help. Someone has smashed my Drivers side fof liught and indicator. Does anyone know where these items can be obtained. I know that VW can supply them but they seem extremely expensive

Hi Henny I have looked in the scuttle and there are no signs of blockage. I have looked also at the drivers door seal. Although there does not seem to be any visible damage, it seems extremly wet :?

HELP! I came out to my VR6 this morning and noticed that the drivers mat and carpet were soaking wet. After looking on the forum i see that heater matrix leaking is common, but this usually appears on the passenger side and smeelsof antifreeze. There is definately no antifreeze present. Can anyone help?

i have a vr6 corrado with standard speedline alloys. All the tyres are now duff and several of the alloys are crap. Can anyone recommend the size and offset of wheel i would require if i fitted a set of either 16" or 17" alloys. What are peoples preference in alloy size. If i fitted 17" alloys would they clear the arches on full lock?

Are the rear bushes an easy item to replace. Is this a simple matter of taking of the suspension legs and inserting new bushes?
-
The beast has just gone over 103,000 miles

Thanks for the information dr_mat. I was thinking of fitting top adjustable koni suspension all round with new bushes. Do you know if this is a good set up to go for. I have also seen AVo equivalent suspension for sale on a couple of sites

I have a corrado vr6 with what i believe to be standard suspension. I do not think that it has ever been replaced. The ride is extremly hard. Does anyone know of a decent suspension set up that is not rock hard
