Pretty much brand new BMC CDA for VR6 engine, only ever been mocked up in engine bay, never run, few small marks from the collar being fitted, comes in the box with all associated bits, including a silicon pipe spacer that I purchased to enable fitment, looking for £120 collected from B'ham B69 1BX, or £130 posted

Arsecakes, erm guessing its electrical as I let the smoke out :-\ little bit of smoke from the bay and quite an audible pop, checked fuses and relays, nowt obvious so bit stuck tbh, where's the immobiliser on C's?
-
Started last week OK, took battery off to charge but put it back on today, went to start, there was an ominous pop and now it won't start; starts, revs up then dies, sounds similar to a immobiliser problem I had on my polo when the chip in the key went, but AFAIK the keys don't have chips in, really at a loose end with this thing now...

Owner: Me V5 Present: Yes Make: Corrado (Late spec) Engine: 2.9 ABV VR6 MOT: Feb 2015 (will be renewed before sale) Tax: Dec 2014 Mileage: 149k Unfortunately, the time has come to say goodbye to my VR6, got a new car on the way and the hammer has fallen on this one (metaphorically of course!) Its a late spec 1994 Corrado with the 2.9 ABV lump fitted, goes like a train and sounds great to boot! In my ownership, I've fitted FK coilovers, cat-back 2.5 inch stainless exhaust, BMC CDA filter, fanblade replica wheels along with 15mm hubcentric spacers with longer bolts on the back, along with replacing the clocks (which had a major electrical issue) the ABS ECU module, radiator, rear bearings and brake lines, coilpack and inlet manifold temp sensor. Previous work on the car (will be sold with heaps of history!) includes most importantly the timing chains being replaced at 110k. All electrics work as they should, windows, mirrors, sunroof tilt and slide, spoiler goes up and down automatically and on the switch Interior is very clean although the drivers seat right bolster could do with some work, but still holds you in place comfortably Tyres on the fanblades are Toyo PX4 Proxes which have around 3000 miles on them, plenty of life left, still have the speedlines if you'd prefer those, two decent tyres and two pretty much brand new Please note the car will not be sold with a stereo The only downside to the car is the bodywork in certain places, there's a rust patch on the passenger wing around the indicator and the drivers rear arch is suffering slightly from a previous owners repair, the rest however is straight and true with relatively little rust for a VW of this era, splitter has a small crack on one end but in relatively good nick Car is located in SW Birmingham, close to the M5, contact me either through here or PM me for my mobile number to discuss further Price wise I'm looking for: £1800 on the speedlines with standard air filter fitted £2000 with BMC fitted and speedlines (or fanblades fitted and standard airbox) £2200 with BMC and fanblades Thanks for looking, am sad to see it go, its been a good couple years ownership but now its time to move on

Any movement on the posted price for both mirror glass? £30?

I just replaced mine on my 94 VR, seems they are slightly prone to going, though mine had 150 ish k before going so not too bad I got mine from EuroCarParts, quite well known motor factor, their part numbers for coilpacks are 413440250 or 413440251 The first number is Bremi, (http://www.eurocarparts.com/search/413440250/p/home) which is a pretty good manufacturer, working well for me, the other one is a budget brand but not sure what that would be. You can order online and collect in store, there's usually some discount codes flying around to save you 10-15% at the checkout

Anyone? Car hasn't moved for nearly two weeks and am at a serious loss...

The saga continues...left it for a few days and the problem seemed to have disappeared, went for bit of a drive and it was fine, thought nothing of it, went out again Friday night and whilst in a small queue of traffic, the problem returned, running lumpy, idle at 600, pretty much instantly, its like something switched off? Kept going as was closer to destination than home, smell of exhaust in the cabin, mpg hovering around 20 instead of mid 30's, smelling a little warm once switched off, guessing the lambda is kaput? Which is going to be an arse to change I guess? Anyone got a part number for one?
-
Looking for confirmation really as got an idea what's up, this has literally just started on the way home about an hour ago, sounds really rough as you drive along, idle is at around 500/600 rpm, no split hoses or anything, guessing the coilpack is kaputski?

Spotted K***GGS I think, Red K reg Corrado, think was a valver, had a red grille badge anyways, A448 island in Bromsgrove, with me all the way to M5 J4 when I put my toe down :thumbleft:

Heater controls still available?
-
Looking for a pair of front wings, as above, must be late spec and most importantly, rust free! Colour not an issue as they'll be sprayed anyways Also after another set of heater controls as am sure mine have died again :( Thanks

Might just be me being thick but just in case, where do people mount the body of the BMC CDA in the VR engine bay (or the meccano style strip for that matter)? Can't seem to spot anywhere suitable...
