nothings been changed yet, it just went from running badly to not at all need to investigate. it sorta pops and runs on one cyl then stops
-
sorry the bloody things fainted altogether now so its a non runner i'm gonna check all my earths tomorrow and have another look at the wiring for the lambda, failing that its petrol and a match,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
-
it may have been black , certainly dark we talked about gear linkages and i think you tried to sell me a headlight loom , (went home and checked it already had one)you gave me a card but i cant find it were or are you somwhere near warrington?
-
H100vw ( did i meet you at elvington last yearyou were with a group of people one of whom was running a quite quick golf i was with my mate with a peugeot 309gti ) thats exactly right, all i have is a little wiring sticking out of the loom its a long story but somebody who shall remain namless chopped the damaged wiring back an threw the plugs away The car had allready been bodged with an aftermarket lambda and the wires shorted out on the exhaust. The feed from the fusebox totally melted but i've found this, it was a red and white wire from the same plug as the fuel pump all in all i'm starting from scratch the black and violet wires are salvagable as i think is the brown and white one an earth and a feed i can cobble up but without knowing how the function or how to connect them i've no chance Gazzag60 i think this may have already happend, but the first step is to eliminate the lambda issue the car ran terriblyi can only assume that it was in limp home mode as it overfuelled horrendusly now its given up the ghost altogether and will only fire on one maybe two cylinders but the plugs are so carboned up its untrue
-
and i'm just outside of manchester in swinton and am quiite happy to pay to get this sorted out if anybody fancies their chances i'm quite desparate now
-
many thanks but i'm confused whats the black wires function , whats it connected to ? i cant plug anything in as there are no plugs there whatsoever all i have is a short length of wiring sticking out of the main loom it looks like the red and white wire was the feed from the fusebox to the probe heater? violet is the signal back to the ecu one of the browns must be an earth for the probe heater and the other?? whats its function and where does it run from or to sorry for being thick btw
-
so violet is the signal to the ecu, what colour is the power wire to the probe and where is is taken from? i think from the melted mess i have there was a red and white wire, two brown, one black and the violet one how would these connect to one of the universal probes sorry if i'm being a dufus but this elastictrickery really isnt my field gimme paint anyday

Ok I'm getting desparate i need a easy to understand wiring diagram for a lambda on a 90 G60, I think it should be a 4 wire one but its hard to tell as all the wiring is melted, I'm going to have to trace it back into the loom and patch one in .javascript:emoticon('') Rolling Eyes I have the bentley but god those diagrams are confusing so c, mon guys what are the variious wires functions where do they go ?? i'm really lost and car has not run for three weeksjavascript:emoticon('') Crying or Very sad
-
splice it to what? all i have is a melted mess. i'm going to have to re wire the whole thing thats why i need to know the various wire functions and what my car should have in the firsplace can any one help?
-
 90 g6o its an early type i think ok this should get a few heads scratching , the lambda on my car is fried and the wiring is badly melted. Looks like it has had a bodged replacement at some point and a wire has shorted out . everythings melted the plugs are 4 pin type but there are only three wires on the lambda??? there could well have been 4 wires originally but its all so nasty its impossible to tell i'm suspicious because the car has always used loads of juice and never really had stellar performance i could do with knowing where the wires go and their relevant functions ie earths, signal, power, etc etc as somehow i'm gonna have to replace everything wiring probe the lot and at the moment i dont know even which probe to get Help........................................................

many thanks Steve, but i've still got the original chip the previous owner supplied it along with the stock pully , however Dubsport advised agaist trying to run it with the smaller pully, saying that in all liklihood it would run lean and risk serious damage. I should have pointed out that this was an option i just dont want to go back to stock power  incidentally i got 190ftlb of torque and 180 bhp with a stock exhaust ( and obviously a slightly rich mixture ) on reflection i think i'm going to try one last time and go for a proper custom map if that doesnt work  then its auto trader time but as i really dont want to sell it heres hoping
-
ok guys i'm back  had the raddo on the rollers at Dubsport and everything checks out  there are no significant faults at all , all the sensors are present working and correct the thing even makes reasonable power, suspicion is now heading towards the jabbasport chip and i've been advised to get this looked at as Dubsport are unsure how well and acuratly its mapped . Ive been offered their custom mapping service but its about £250.00 now thats a serious chunk to lay out with no guarantee of a signficant improvement over what i have given that its an unknown ( in fairness i appreciate that my map is unknown to Dubsport so the obviously cant commit to anything). So in short it could make a word of difference or it could make a it a little bit better :( So now i'm unsure what to do do i get it mapped in the new year or do i sell it ????

yellow raddo chased me going from prestwich towards swinton in the dark last night (he he you didnt catch me !)
-
ok i've given in , cars booked in at Dub Sport on the 22nd :D jeez i hope they find something  even if its the invi9sible hole in the tank
-
well i just got 165 to a tank  and i'm just commuting bugger  going to change the o2 sensor tomorrow should have done it this weekend but they were out of stock this is not funny anymore keep looking at that raddo on here thats been converted to diesel :D thats soooo appealing right now
