acjmetalman1 started following rear calipers, Another after run question., clicking from passenger side rear?? and and 3 others
-
hi. I'v replaced the aux water pump and yellow temp sender and followed the test procedure in the cooling guide by dridging the two contacts on the yellow sender plug. The pump and fans can on as they should. Pump comes on with ignition also but it wont "after run" as soon as ingnition is off the pump stops. Does this mean its the fan controle module thats at fault?

just spotted this last owner was a forum member. only 2 hours left and no bids. looks ok to me. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-VR6-/190749906640?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c699496d0#ht_697wt_1170

well i think iv done it but cant drive the car yet to test it. thanks for the help.

I was sat in the car earler trying to fix the handbrake when I could hear some clicking coming from the panel next to the rear passenger seat. I usually hear it from the drivers side from the electric windows but never from the passenger side. The strange thing is If I kept still it would stop and then start again soon as i moved. What could this be? (car is a vr)

'I'm not using using easy bleed just the old way, so what order do i do it?
-
ok so I went and bought a blow torch from halfords and heated it up but the nut will not budge. I'm stuck and it's booked in for its re test later today :(
-
how do i bleed the master?
-
ok i should have waited for a reply before riding to hafords to get a standered bleed kit lol guess i'll have to do it the old fashioned way. thanks for the info. Did you read the post from that other site? is any of that true? especially the part about turning the engine on, opening the bleed valve and the rear brakes bleed them self as the system primes?

I'm blled the brakes today on my vr. iv never dont this before som I was hoping somebody could write me a simple instruction manual on how to do this correctly so i can print it off and take it out with me. I did see this but I'm not sure if any of it is accurate as I'v not seen it mentioned before http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?p=98987 3rd post from the top by Dennis. He mentions the brakes on a corrado can be bled in any order and that you can't leave the rear axle hong or no fluid will come through and that the rear brake can be bled on their own with the ignition on? Also I understand I'm supposed to bleed the ABS and the master cylinder. How and when do I bleed them? before or after the brakes? Thanks for any help.

I can't find much in the search about replacing drop links. I had a go at doing it today on my vr. the bottom of the link where it attaches to the wishbone came off fine but the top threaded part of the drop link which screws strait into the end of the ARB has a 17mm nut. I have tried everything I can think of to remove this but it wont budge and now it's rounded off completely! Has anyone done droplinks before and had trouble removing them? any tips would be very helpfull. thanks.

as long as the work and not leaking then im interested. how much mate?
-
looks good but them hoses are expensive aren't they? it's something i'd like to do in the future but for now i think i'll have to just get the caliper reapair kit. I took the caliper off yeterday to have a look and the inside of the disc was very oily so im guessing its leaking from the piston seal? The car also failed on the handbrake recording very little effort. Is this another common thing on rado's?
-
ok so I know i dismissed the idea of using mk4 calipers but if i did get some do they just bolt strait on? is there anything i need to do to make them fit? cheers
-
oh ok i see what you mean now. so this would have to be done in pairs? sorry to sound unappreciative of the help but would'nt just be cheaper to buy a used calliper or sevice kit to sort the leak? i just need it done as cheap as poss with no fuss. need the car mot'd to get to work. is leaking rear calipers a common fault? what might be the main cause? is there a cheap and simple solution? i.e caliper service kit?

if they are the same then its not really an upgrade is it? lol so i guess it means they are just easyer to find then searching for corrado calipers? cheers for the help guys.
