Hi All, The last couple of days I have had a really loud screeching noise when pulling away and it can last 30 seconds before it stops. I assume it is a belt that is slipping. Which one is it likely to be and is it adjustable or will it need replacing? If it needs replacing, is it easy to do? Many thanks. Phil.

where have the photo's gone???

no, it doesn't look bodged at all. the bracket looks propperly manufactured (laser cut and spot welded to coil bracket) and the module is riveted to the heatsink on the bracket. There are no markings or VW part number on the module tho :( .

Hello All, My car will not start and I am having real problems fixing it! :( It turns over but does not fire. Ive done the LED test on the hall sender and it is operating correctly. I thinkj its the ignition module that I need to replace, however, ive taken it to VW and they say that it is not a VW part! Apparently my ignition module is supposed to be mounted next to the ECU, well mine is on the ame bracket as the ignition coil ! Ive attached a photo, can people confirm that their Corrado either does or does not look like mine, and if not, where is your ignition module ? Also, anny suggestions as to where I could source a replacement ? Many thanks Phil.

Hi all, I have a problem with my 2L 16V. After coming back from my hols, I tried to start the car and it turns over but does not fire. There seems to be no output from the coil although there is a supply. I purchased a new coil but unfortunately it has not solved the problem, so next thing i looked for was some kind of ignition module / amplfier. On the parts CD rom is shows this module mounted next to the ECU but there is not one there on my car. There is however, an electrical module mounted on the same bracket as the ignition coil which looks like some sort of transformer. I have taken the whole assembly to VW (coil & bracket & elec. module) and they are saying that the coil is standard but the module is NOT a VW part? Could someone else with a 2L 16V confirm that the do not have 2 wires leaving their ignition module and going to an ele. module mounted 20cm away? If, as they say it is not a VW part and my igniton module should be by the ECU, and ideas as to why a previous owner would have changed the set-up or ideas to what I can do now? The module in question has no markings or part number on it at all and is rivetted to the bracket and the bracket is spot welded to the ignition coil bracket. Any hlp would be much appreciated to get my baby back on the road for christmas! Cheers Phil.
