  1. Let me just say this: I went and saw john from JMR and its the best decision i ever made. He is outstanding. Talk about feeling like a valued customer. thanks everyone for recommending him. No question was too silly and he is a font of knowledge. (plus i got some excellent JMR tax disc holders and key fobs! - contact him for your own. very nice). Extremely reasonable prices and absolutely no pressure. I got a full tour and check of the car ... something most garage owners would never dream of doing. I wont be going anywhere else. BTW - His own corrado is literally epic. absolutely beautiful. I wanted to hand in my notice and beg him for a job!

  9. maybe i got wd40 on the slave cylinder? would that encourage it?! Depends how competent driver you are! - LOL! im guessing it would mean using my foot to bring it back up if needed? as long as it doesnt die on the dual carriageway id be happy. might give it a little run around tonight when its quiet. hang on, if it was the slave surely it wont go into gear so sweetly? (wish i had 2 cars!)
  10. i was far too premature with that one! i dont think i greased it enough maybe but when i went out this morning i couldnt get it in gear at all. only reverse allowed me to start grinding - which i stopped immediately. no amount of force would get any of the other gears in. so i phone my new local and they said they would send a flat bed. i am very grateful but not very rich so i said id think about it. before leaving work i coated that stubborn monstrosity in wd40. when i got home everything seemed back to normal. except ..... the clutch pedal seemed a little low. so just to see if i was going crazy i put my foot under it and it lifted .... far beyond where it was and now wont go back! gears appear to still function fine tho. any thoughts about that? also, will it be safe to drive to the garage (8 miles) ... and dare i say workplace (25miles)? ive only had her a week ;(
  11. Great, you'll be hearing from me tomorrow John! Looking forward to it. thanks everyone, much appreciated.

  13. I've only got a 2.0l 16v! i wonder if he'll entertain a newbie enthusiast. my brother works in electrical trade retail - he told me that some of the guys charge what is known as a w**kers tax on top of true prices for customers they dont like the look of. i always think id be one of those that get charged! you two travel a long way to get your cars done! cheers
  14. Hi all, not long been an owner so not entirely sure what i should be seeing and feelling when it comes to the state of my C. I wonder if there is anyone who knows alot about these beauties in or near sussex who would be happy to take a look at and drive my C and tell me if they think anything needs replacing or adjusting? any offers would be greatly appreciated. thx

    RPM Problem

Thanks all most helpful. thanks for the MAF offer but i have a 93 12v - sorry
  19. Halfords?!! Im kinda surprised. Supercharged, do u work for them cos ... well, their general mark up its considerable compared to autofactors and u always recommend them. just checking. i could be wrong so no offense intended but ... halfords, really? i use a local auto factors (which have national branches) and always barter and generally get VAT off every time. my experience with halfords is that they are well overpriced - as the average joe doesnt know where to shop. again, no offense mate. maybe im naive
  20. Fog light protectors - anyone seen/heard of them? maybe a DIY? got a chip (actually more of a slice) in one and dont want to get anymore damage. advice appreciated

    Rear Lights

wot r peoples thoughts on rear lights? have u upgraded or made changes? i considered rewiring the fogs to make the brakes more obvious to deter the idiots up my arse (i didnt say Merc/BMW/Audi drivers with their stupid blueish neon/halogen headlights ... but thats wot i meant!) ... but then when its foggy ! anyone using strips in the window etc?

I notice you didnt take off the door trim. it looks mint. not that youd care but im surprised u went with those wheels. they seem different in the pics. ur reg plate is the mustard tho.is that legal? how did u delete so cleanly off the bumper? and can we get a rear shot? cheers ---------- Post added at 1:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 1:21 AM ---------- also, my rear view mirror doesnt have a small piece that connects to the mirror itself - u have to glue the whole thing on

    RPM Problem

maf sensor?! oh yeah.... of course :study: weird thing is drove it tonight and not a problem at all. how does that work? surely a leak is consistent. worrying. already looking into the common tools i'll need for DIY - and trying to find out if anything specific for corrado. the thing that gets me to sleep at night ... my rear spoiler works perfectly! thanks for the help - really helpful
