I don't actually have a gallery of the build thus far, bat that's not a bad idea. I do have a link to the G40 website where you can see the current fleet. http://www.polog40.co.uk/owners/craigwallet.html If ever you get a chance have a drive in a G40, they are excellent fun and so stealth. I think standard ones or sometimes the best. The chassis isn't anything like the Corrado's and the brakes....well they keep you focused. Am trying to perswade the misses at the moment that the TT has to go and a VR6 is the way forward. That's why I have been on this site a bit recently, looking through the classifieds, and how I stumbled across your build. I will keep an eye on your progress with great interest. Cheers for now Craig

Dave, Have just read though the entire thread and downloaded your clip. Beautiful noise, man I miss my VR6, and absolutely superb job. It's a pretty tight fit. Hope all goes well with the remap etc. I run a couple of Polo G40's at the moment but have had 2 VR6's in my time. Forced induction really is fun and the VR6 is one of my favourite engines. You have the best of both worlds. I am now totally inspired to get on with my Polo G40 project. Excellent effort and all the best. Craig

ABS diagnostics. Glasgow area?
superchargedpolo replied to superchargedpolo's topic in Suppliers Forum
Yeah, have unplugged each sensor and checked for corrosion or any contamination and made sure they are all firmly plugged back in again. Looks like I’ll need to prepare myself for a fleecing!! -
Just for a change the orange ABS warning light has come on in my N reg VR6. Have done the usual clean up of the sensors and rotors etc, all of which seem to be in pretty good nick. Guess I’ll have to get it plugged in to see which sensor is knackered. Have phoned round a couple of places in the Glasgow area who want to charge me an arm and a leg for about a 5 minute job. I don’t mind a tenner but do object to £30. Any ideas of anyone who can offer this service at a sensible price? Cheers Craig.

Glad to see the camber is on the negative side! Cheers for that.

I am about to get my camber and tracking checked on my 95 VR6. Can anyone tell me the acceptable camber and tracking tolerances set by VW. Thanks in advance Craig.

Went for a Magnex in the end and must admit am very pleased with it. The fit is second to none and it took me 10 minutes to fit (once I had removed the old system). Hardly any increase in noise and the oval tailpipe looks the business. Very please and would recommend one. Craig

Am in a predicament at the moment. I want to get a s/s exhaust for my Corrado VR6 and have narrowed it down to a Magnex or a Powerflow. However, my local Powerflow dealer is Drivers in Glasgow. Has anyone had experience of these guys cos as far as I am concerned the powerflow exhaust will only be as good as the technician that fits it. I have heard a lot of good things about Powerflow but they have all come from the English agents. Or do I just play safe and go for the Magnex? Any comments would be gratefully received. Thanks Craig.

Tried to start my VR for the first time in about 3 months for its MOT on Saturday morning but could not get the OE alarm to disarm itself with the keyfob, no matter what I tried. I have had the battery out of the car and on an optimate over the winter so it is 100% okay and I tried both keyfobs with brand new batteries in them. Spoke to a couple of auto electrician and they said that either the keyfobs have become un- synchronised or the unit is buggered? Has anyone else had this problem or know how to sort it before I have to spend a lot of money? Thanks Craig The unit is a VAG badged total closure alarm, Scorpion 5000.
