considering trading the corrado in for a golf vr6
happyeaster replied to happyeaster's topic in General Car Chat
yea i think it was just a moment of madness. the vr6 golfs do handle rather bad compared it the corrado. think i will have to get saving for a vr6 corrado. anyone want to buy a tornado red 1.8 16v corrado? -
only owned the 'rado for a month and done 2000 twistie road miles and threw more money at it than i ever wished. got the lend of a mk3 vr6 golf today and now find myself wanting more power. as much as i like my car and how well they handle the little 1.8 just isnt doing it for me anymore. i think im going to have to sell it and buy something with a little more grunt to go with the mpg

i have been using my corrado a lot at night and the lights are terrible. i drive with full beam on most of the the time and it is still not great. seen a few people say use 100w bulbs i know this is not legal but are they much better?

took it a spin but the clutch is still leaking fluid so new slave cylinder is going onto it today. yea the spoiler is very cool and very modern for a car of its age. noticed a few wee things that are very modern on them. although it does have a 6disk minidisk player which will be getting changed very soon -

do you know if they do insurance for n.ireland though as very few companies seem to cover over here ---------- Post added at 12:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 PM ---------- the problem is fixed, one of the slave or master cylinders was leaking so air was getting in which made the clutch a bit of a handful to use. clutch fluid topped up and a new cylinder and the problem is solved although still an old clutch -

yea i think im going to get insured with elephant as it the cheapest although still nearly £800 with 3 named drivers and me as the policy holder. elephant, admiral and diamond all gave me similar quotes but all have to be paid upfront without monthly payments. -

yea i think i will go for it if i can work out a good deal. i plan for it to be my weekend car although it will probably get used more than my other car as they are great fun to drive. it is red which is a colour i normally dont like but think they really suit it -

it seems to be a nice car to drive although the clutch will take a bit of getting used to. it seems very heavy although not as bad as the mk2 golf i have driven. i am used to modern cars with a lot lighter clutches. there is a bit of rust just to the right of the corrado badge on the back although doesnt seem to be any sign of repair and seems to be a very original car with 5 original alloys. -
seen a nice 16v example yesterday. always admired them for there looks and seem to have a nice road presence but never really considered buying 1 until yesterday although have been on the look out for a nice affordable fun car. what are the things to look out for in them. its 1989 with a couple of small rust spots although a very clean car. all the electrics seem to work including the rear adjustable spoiler. im unsure if its a 1.8 or 2.0 i know they are not fast on todays standards but i want something fun and cool looking.
