Henny 0 Posted October 4, 2004 the hazard warning switch is also different... ;) It's do-able, but I haven't done it, so I can't comment on how easy/hard it is to do.... :|

Henny 0 Posted October 5, 2004 I'm pretty certain that it's just a case of unplugging the whole lot of switch gear, undoing a couple of screws behind the steering wheel and then bolting on the same lot of bits from a later car, but as I say, I've not done it... woody 0 Posted October 5, 2004 I have fitted a late style indicator stalk and wiper stalk to my C including the new style cowling. The only problem i found was that the cable which feeds the mfa push button is not as long as the old type ( i can olny presume that the connector on the new style is in a different place from the old one). What i did was cut the old cable so the cut would be hidden under the cowling and then cut the new mfa cable and spliced them together. There are four wires so i just mated up the colour's and put heatshink arround each join and there you go everything worked. Make sure when getting a cowlling that you know whether you need one with or wothout the height adjustment lever. The new cowling are about £30 from VAG or there is one on ebay i think at the moment. davidwort 0 Posted October 6, 2004 I've fitted late stalks with the help of Dave Wort from this forum, I also running the early hazard button... didnt take long to do either... :D you don't need the early hazzard switch, just the red plastic cover, and you need to carefully trim a couple of bits of plastic from either side of the hazzard switch so the early cover fits.
