G60Jet 1 Posted December 21, 2004 yeah its read and next to the oil pressure light, try topping it up a little from cold. a new header tank is only a few quid so change it if it fails

bighairymuppet 0 Posted December 25, 2004 make sure the coolant isnt overfull as this can also cause this,
bighairymuppet 0 Posted December 25, 2004 oh and if it is is too full you can remove the coolant using one of those drinks bottles with the sooky valve thingy. open valve squeeze air out put in water let go o squeee sides til sooks up close valve and take it out. squirt some back in if you take too much out. Supercharged 2 Posted December 26, 2004 Took car have it alarm fitted today and while it was there coolant warning light started flashing The above scentence rings alarm bells! (excuse the pun) - It looks more than likely the alarm installation is causing the problem - too much of a coincidence!!
Craigs8vgti 0 Posted December 27, 2004 I'll take it back to the alarm place on Wednesday wonder why the alarm setting of the warning light :(
K-rado 0 Posted December 27, 2004 Mine started to do the same SNAP. When it is cold it will come on. When It is hot it does not come on. When it is cold and has come on, turn of the engine for a few seconds and re-start. it should go off. if it does, you only need to add a little water/mix 60/40%. If it still comes on when it has warmed up and the temp rises to 110 C+ then suspect faulty thermastat/reader/sender. Hope this helps.
